Another genre of music my father likes that originated in the south, is the Blues. BB King is and always will be the king of Blues. My father was a huge fan of BB King aka Riley King (RIP). The Thrill Is Gone is one of his favorites.

Another great video! I love Louisiana and am so fascinated by the history (a lot of times dark history), and culture and how it is still reflected in Louisiana to this day. This is such a great video series and I would fall down and die if you ever got around to covering parang music. ❤️

Thanks! Hmm what is parang? Lol
@LaFlor718

VivaBella by Xtina omg parang! It’s traditionally Spanish language folk music from Trinidad. The cuatro is the main instrument and it was carried over to Trinidad from Venezuelans and Colombians that made their way to Trinidad. A lot of it is sung in English now and it’s heavily influenced by soca music, but it’s our Christmas music either way, traditional Spanish or English. The musicians are called panaderos. I can’t wait for your channel to blow up! You show so much love to all of us.

@@LaFlor718 wow I had no idea! So you are Trinidadian? Why did I think you were Cuban 🤔 lol. That definitely sounds like a good genre of music for this series! I will do a video on it 😁

VivaBella by Xtina I get everything from Dominican to African and it’s always a compliment to me! My family emigrated from Venezuela to Trinidad so I what I call a VenezTrini lol. Then I am Costa Rican (emigrated to Trinidad as well) and Scottish on my dads side. Not gonna lie though, my fave was when a fellow dark skinned Latino thought I was Honduran. Don’t Know why lol.

We are not black, that is the definition of a color and a label put on us. Our culture and heritage is of the Aboriginals from South and North America,...add in the historical facts about slavery thus,....wut the colonizers labeled us is not a proper or respectful term to describe us as a whole. We are Gods children, we define ourselves! Zydeco is more than music, And the folk who started zydeco is more than a Color! Thanks for exploring Zydeco!

The first song sounds like Merengué Típico ... but only the first song.... the germen is where they get the accordion

MIGUEL DeLaCruz the only exception is the piano style 🎹 accordion which originated with the French. You are correct in the meaning of the actual instrument originating with the Germans which is the button accordion known in Tipico and vallenato
