the windshields do NOT fold down but they can be removed easily.

The HiSun E1 has a few things going for it, like lower cost, especially for what it comes standard with. I could have easily spent another $5k+ for a tricked-out Polaris or other brand. The problem is reliability. I looked at many reviews, and saw many negative comments, but I decided to get one, since the US HDQ is based so close (75 miles) to me, plus I was assured from the dealer (who just started carrying HiSun) that service (if needed) would be no issue. Well, there were issues. The first time it quit running, and the problem was electrical in nature, the cables going to the fuse block had apparently become loose, arced, and then melted. The second time was also electrical, but it’s still back at the dealer. I’ve only had the E1 for about 3-4 months, and between the two issues, it’s spent a total of 5 weeks (so far) back at the dealer. The dealer has had other E1s with the same problem. Like many things these days, the HiSun E1 is made in Asia (Vietnam), and I’m fine with that, as long as the dealer support network is in place. One would think that’d be an easy case for mine, but 75 miles might as well be 750. I haven’t decided whether to keep mine yet, but I’m considering having the dealer take it back under my state’s Lemon Law. I don’t want my E1 to strand me somewhere. UPDATE 8.9/2022 Today marks it being 4 weeks my E1 has been back at the dealer with electrical problems. Do not appear to be getting communication and coordination between local dealer and HiSun HQ office in McKinney, a mere 75 miles away. Ugh..

I just bought a ‘23 E1. My dealer said it was made in China and that the Axis line ( sold through Lowes) was made in Vietnam. By the way thanks to your comments here and your video review which I’ve seen (I think it’s you) I’ll be going through mine and checking that the connectors are all tightened down.

I had a problem with the parking brake cable, the front tire hit it twice breaking 2 cables. The first cable replacement went well, on the second cable replacement Hisun sent the wrong cable twice!! After a few weeks I finally got the correct cable installed.

It's not a comfortable ride, very stiff and jarring, even with all of the so called adjustments. Also, the plastic panels and flooring break very easily so be careful with rocks, logs, stumps. The windshield does not flip up, 2 panels, off or on. The seats are horrendous, I had the bottom recovered and repaddded, about to do the same with the seat back.

Chinese counterfeit junk, gets light farm work done but it's no Polaris, Yamaha, Honda, or Can Am, you get what you pay for.
