Should most likely be an error. What is a hit and what is an error is not black and white. They are very often judgement calls. The same way certain calls are judgement calls by an umpire. In my opinion, it is E7 as an average outfielder would have made that play with ordinary effort. However, I don't find this obvious enough to object to it being ruled a hit. It is what it is. I do find it odd that you seem to want to air your beef with the call. Why would you want this to be an error instead of a hit? It doesn't really make much sense. I can understand a parent wanting this to be scored a hit instead of an error because it makes his daughter look better - in both scenarios. If you were the fielder, you'd want it to be ruled a hit because that means the scorer determined that the play was tough. As the hitter, you would want it to be ruled a hit because it means your stats improve. What I don't understand is why you are concerned. It seems cheap to want to take a hit away from someone. Was the pitcher throwing a no-hitter or something?
