Can you make a video about calibrating analog gear? Also, are you able to make a video about your template but for Studio one?

People use analog in Dolby? I’m curious how that looks

Hi Alex, You keep mentioning this "other video". Which other video? I fee like I'm missing a piece of information that would help me understand this more
Hola Alex, I don't quite follow how can you not meter your 5.1 at -18db as Dolby requires. Is the 2.0 metering you do equal to the 5.1? Thanks!

If you receive raw tracks with no process at all… would you mix it stereo first and after that would you convert to Atmos or do you mix everything within the Atmos session?

At this point I am creating both stereo and Atmos mix from the same session.

Hi Alex, Thanks for your videos. I've noticed in this one that the renderer's meters go up to +24 (if I see it correctly), so that when you send the sine at -20dB from Pro Tools to the renderer this reads 0VU. My renderer's meters (Pro Tools Studio) go up to 0VU instead, and I don't seem to find any way to change that even in the metering Pro Tools preferences. Could you please enlighten me about it? Thanks in advance. Marco

Hi Marcos, prior to this I was calibrating at -18 but since I bought my dorrough meters and they have a +20 DB max I’ve been using 20 db as my new reference. This means I calibrate all my outboard gear to zero VU equals -20 DB. When the immersive mix is done, I export the ADM file and measure the loudness using the Dolby renderer, and I’m usually in the ballpark of -18 DBLKFS

@@DolbyAtmosMixing thank you so much, Alex. All is clear to me about ref levels. What I cannot understand is why your renderer meters go up to +20 and mine go up to 0 instead. This means that when I hit the meters with the sine wave they go straight up to 0 but there's no headroom at all as in your setup instead. I can't solve this mystery. Any ideas?
