Our hitachi was a year newer and had regular pots for the color and tint but looked almost the same. Lasted from early 1973 to 2011 with a few minor repairs. Outstanding instant on color tv!! Well ahead of its time!’ 🎉

I recall that my late grandmother had a Hitachi TV very similar to this model from the early 70s to 1996. When I noticed the new set, I asked her what happened to the old one, and she said the TV had a bright flash and never turned on again. Knowing what I know now, I wonder if the old Hitachi's power supply board blew up? I also did notice in the early months of 1996 that the very top of the Hitachi's picture was starting to curl to the right, similar to a worn out VHS tape, but my grandma didn't have a VCR. I did wish my parents kept that old Hitachi, but alas, it went into the garbage. The replacement TV, a bare bones "RCA" XL-100 needed servicing just three years later because the focus gradually went out of whack.

I'd totally watch this. Man I miss having dozens of channels on my TVs. And a stack of VCRs, because back then, if anything interesting was on, often another channel also had something interesting on. Now I need a stack of cable boxes for that purpose, but now I got ten times as many channels, but only a tenth of actually watchable content (that is a hundredth if you apply the times ten before calculating the tenth)... Just zapping through the channels on a bathroom break (yes I have a CRT TV in the bathroom) would almost guarantee me to land on something interesting (once I had guests and one used my bathroom and didn't come back for half an hour... turned out he found something interesting on TV too).

It's a game show TV! A typical one given away on shows then like Concentration and Let's Make a Deal.

Cool TV!! Also can you make a video about the VCR at 14:28? I would be really intressted in seeing a review of that RCA. Also I got my Saba toploader VCR working yesterday

Mine (model 6000) needs new belts and an adjustment (especially now after recapping). You'd think those leaky Matsushita caps were only used on Technics and Panasonic stuff? Still works though, you just have to give the flywheel a push every time you start or stop playback. And I have one of these Panasonic VCRs that looks just like that RCA here. This one has no problems though.

Manitoba actually. We have no analog broadcast TV - not sure about cable TV as I haven't had that in years, but I would suspect it's gone too. I have a bank of RF modulators that inject channels into the coax wiring in my house.

It looks much better in real life vs the camera, but the greens definitely are kinda weak. I think it's a combination of the CRT being worn out and the type of phosphors they used.

Well it may be the brand you know like different brands have different ways of making crt,s example emmm a gold star has different colors than a Samsung TV set or idk I’m not a tv specialist

And I don’t know know how to fix one Question ( where can I get capacitors for a 80s TV set )

You can buy them anywhere that sells electronic components, like digikey or mouser. Just need to match the type of capacitor, capacitance and voltage ratings (you can go up a bit in voltage, as that's more of a max rating).
