amazing editing... nice work on the sound.. from a techie,.level.. fantastic.!!Gene Borrello was part of the last generation of NYC’s wild wise guys. He joined the Bonnano Crime Family at a young age and quickly got close with the family’s boss. His reputation of violence and brutality made him a name that everyone in the city feared. After being indicted on RICO charges he eventually flipped on his former crime associates and entered witness protection. He’s here to tell us all about the final days of the mob as the world knew it!

As a Law Abiding fambly that grew up in Ozone Park & How'beach, the neighborhoods were very safe and everyone looked out for eachother, especially elderly and young kids. Were there some young punks? Yes, but they didn't carry on like that for long. If you were tough and were willing to fight, you were left alone whether you were Irish or a Jew, et cetera. If some riff raff wandered down Crozz-Bay Blvd or Liberty Ave and started harassing women or young girls, they got the shit beat outta them insight. My Father in law (80) now grew up in Woodhaven. When he was 9 some teenage punks threw him off the basketball court. He was walking down Jamaica Ave crying. Some Wise guys he didn't even know, go: "Whats a matter kid? Why you crying??" He told them, so they walked him back to the court, pointed them out, and these "strangers" beat the crap outta the mean punks. That's how you "police" your own neighborhood!! Disruptive assholes learned their lessons in short order..

One thing you can’t tell about him for sure is that he will go at the drop of a dime. The dude has some balls to him, he was robbing skippers when he was in the life. Not just made guys but captains. @@danpena1495I don’t think he’s full of shit, I think he’s got a lot of enemies. That’s kinda what happens if you flip and go against your family, they start badmouthing you and saying you’re full of shit. I mean what else are they gonna say, he was a great guy and everything he says is true? Of course they want to smear him and discredit him. It’s the same thing with Frankie Pasqua, people always say that crap about him too, but he called it out in his interview - he said what do you expect them to say? I put away almost the entire family, of course they hate me and want to tarnish my name. Use your head people. Just cause people say it’s BS doesn’t mean it’s true, it probably means they have a motive. This is the 1st time that I've ever seen Borrello . He is a new , refreshing face of OC . I was raised around 1950s era Long Island City, NY type of wise guys. It was a well organized Catholic Italian parish that celebrated San Rocco and many other Italian feasts. I attended grammar school at St Mary's School. I remember a big Italian boy who acted much older than a 4th grader. Later I was told that, ''Joey C. is ''packs'' in Brooklyn''. In other words, Joey was now a gunman with some Brooklyn crime family. That was about 1957. I never forgot his name and I have also wondered if he was still alive.
