My EDC is a H&K USP Compact in .40 S&W. It is almost always on my hip in a Gelco holster on steel-reinforced belt. I own a fair number of handguns and only carry anything else if the situation demands it. My H&K has never failed me -- no misfeeds, no misfires, no problems! As an NRA certified instructor, I expect no less from my EDC. Yes, they are expensive but what is your life worth?

I don't have a USP, but when I get out of NJ (don't even bother looking up our gun laws, it's depressing) and into a state where I can carry, it will be the first compact I buy. I have a HK P30 9mm and I LOVE it. They're so great to shoot. I'm a big Glock Fan and still love Glock For many other reasons, but I wouldn't sell my HK for anything. Thanks for the video, Tom. I have a V3 and was never sure what the other variations were, and now I know mine was made in 2013. As always, youdaman!

Thanks for that video. Seeing how you made the video in 2013, I sort of wish you would have touched on estimated costs for the USP40. I shot a used 2013 compact model today & YOU'RE RIGHT! They're awesome! However, I felt the $899 price point for a used USP 40 a bit high. Now I'm perusing the web and finding NEW HK USP 40's for like $789. I live in SC & I definitely am going to acquire one of these babies for my everyday carry pistol. The 40 cal has the kinetic stopping power for pretty much any situations. Great gun... Way better than a Glock. (or 2 Glocks for that matter). Super light 4lb trigger on single action keeps you on target & the mag reload button is positioned so you don't have to look down or take eyes off target. Obviously I can't say enough about this weapon. Save your pennies & go buy one. Great for women too.

I love my HK. I have the USP.45 elite v1 and the recoil is slightly less than my 9mm Beretta. It truly is a dream to fire. HK and FN are my top brands for fire arms. I am glad you posted the varient listing. I did learn a bit there. I would like to see more videos of HKs especially the USP so i can learn more in depth about them without bias opinions. And if you ever had time, I'd like to see a video on the HK mk.23. Thank you

You should show how to use your trigger finger to push the mag release, that is why the trigger guard and mag release are shaped that way, you take your trigger finger follow the trigger guard, when you feel the bump on the trigger guard, you bring your finger back further until you push the mag release. It is not made for the shooting hand's thumb to depress because it you would have to change your grip to achieve that movement (unless you had extremely long thumbs) ... I have on mutiple occasions used my support hand thumb to push the mag release while I catch the ejecting magazine and have another full mag in my hand to do a tactical reload.. . . it is true tactical weapon through and through that most people really do not understand why certain things were designed and shaped a certain way. If you didn't know this technique, you just learned something new about the design and operation of the USP/ Mark 23 that were taught in the tactical operator's world back when these weapons hit the field that made this another reason why they were the pistol system of choice. Oh.. and none of my guys EVER carried it cock and unlocked!! I know(hope) you were not promoting that method of carry. ;)

I use to own a USP 9mm compact, and sold it for a GLOCK 19 gen 4. I do miss the gun, but spare mags were hard to find, and Wolf ammo did cause my USPc 9mm, to jam a lot. But I did love the grip, compared to the Glock 19 gen 3. My cousin in the Navy considers this gun his favorite pistol. Tom, you gotta try to the Sig 2022 9mm, better trigger than the USPc 9mm, but is slightly bigger.

A stock Glock is like a Honda civic being that its a really good reliable car same thing with glock, its a very reliable handgun. Hk is like buying a Subaru Wrx impreza. It already comes stock with the performance. Just like a honda a glock will get to where you need to go and just like the Suby it will get you to where you need to go just a lot faster. And if you want your glock to perform like an hk you gotta spend the money. I love glocks and hks. I have both. I've got about $700 invested in my glock 19, and I love it. Ive got an hk usp 45 and i haven't done a single thing to it
