This brings back some good memories. Thank you for sharing these historic videos with us. I served in the Army as a light wheel vehicle mechanic from 92 -2003. Our AIT was at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri back then. I enlisted in the Air Force shortly after leaving the Army and completed my 20 years of service. Also as a automotive mechanic. Retired in 2012. The experiences I had, people I met during my time in the service were something I will always carry with me.

Honestly the amount of time spent on glow plug checks during a "fuel system" fault is a bit absurd. the glow plugs help to start, and don't do shit for running. If you're having fueling issues the glow plugs are your last concern.

I agree they should have then troubleshooting fuel system from the start, no fuel rough run or no run, the glow plugs don’t have anything to with running bad.

There's some plug ins that come down near center of the windshield. There's connectors on there. You can download the manual for your humvee model 😊

This is what was being taught to the military techs? It's totally out of touch with reality and jumps all over the place. It would take days to diagnose a simple no-start condition following these procedures. But I guess this is just the way it was back then. Diagnostic flow charts were pretty much random with no consideration to the most likely causes.

I could really care less about "disposing the fuel in a appropriate container" I just dump it on the driveway.
