I like that you explain the job and get to work. Some talk for 10 min and then talk all the way through and I tune in to see the work so thank you for that. Also I like when the camera is pointed at the job so it’s like I am standing there watching rather than sitting inside the skid steer with you. Just a personal preference. Great video. Thanks

A helpful hint brother if ya want it, I mounted a strip of conveyer belt on the back of my JCB for when I'm running the drum. it knocks out the mulch shooting out the back nearly 100%. Or you can use a couple of mud flaps, it works wonders.

Awesome video Lance, I knew as soon as you showed the trash in that one spot it was inevitable you would have a wrap up lol and not a minute later you were cutting the rope out. But as you well know that just comes with the business.

Damn smokey - that area looks great! Did you bid to do any hand work to cleanup the tree themselves or just the mulching?

Just the mulching. A buddy of mine let me know about the job. He cuts the grass for the Development and he said he would limp up the place later.

Been watching related videos for some time now and thought that the main difference between the brush cutter and mulcher was price. You are the first that I have seen bring both to a site. What do you see as the difference between the two? Great vids and thanks in advance
@honeycuttsbrushmore3244

I brought both for the just in case. The mulcher doesn’t have the reach for the pond edge and I didn’t want to slide in the water. The brush cutter does, sticking out 4 ft farther than the mulcher reaching almost into the water. It’s all about adaptability and being comfortable. Thanks for the comment and question!

Awesome job, I do the same work in Oklahoma, just curious it looks like they’re grass is well maintained did you have to do any extra cleanup on the grass with excess mulch or let it be? I really enjoy all you’re videos 👍

The company the sub contracted me to do the job helped me out in between the days I mulched. They were a lawn care business and couldn’t do the mulching.

Can you share roughly what a bid to do this size of a job would be?
@honeycuttsbrushmore3244

Once you get used to the amount of land a machine can clear you can guess about how much time it would take. In this particular job I charged by the day. I charge around 200hr, or $1500 a day for a 10 hour session. It’s all on what the customer wants. Hope that helps.

Seems like that machine has some really low ground pressure. Other machines would have torn up that grass like something fierce.

I've looked through your videos but I do not see anything on the truck and trailer you use and the limitations on weight with the teleskid, trailer, and attachements. Could you make a video on that please. Maybe add your process of transporting everything from your property to the job site.

That leak down on the head is a real safety risk, is the JCB undersized for the mulcher? Also its super obvious as I watched in 2x.
@honeycuttsbrushmore3244
Жыл бұрын
I've asked about that at the dealer and apparently its an issue with all JCB 270 machines. I've watched other youtuber's that use it and it does the same thing. I try to be very cognizant of the head when we a working under or around it.

I was under the impression that those plants help stabilise the riverbank in storms etc; they might suffer some severe erosion now
@honeycuttsbrushmore3244

Thanks for the comment! They had heavy rains the last few days while I was clearing. All I have done is eliminate the heavy overgrowth that shaded out what once was a lakefront. The HOA knew that runoff may occur and have already contracted out companies to prevent any severe erosion. Your concern is definitely warranted and was discussed beforehand.

This is the second video that I’ve watched you struggle with taking items out of your mulcher. Why don’t you just cut a couple of two by fours 3 foot long and keep them in your truck. That way you can just raise the mulcher and put a 2 x 4 underneath it
@honeycuttsbrushmore3244

That's not a bad idea. If the hydraulic cylinder didn't leak down like that from the factory I wouldn't have to do something like that! Thanks for watching.
