How simple was that cleaning? No piles in corners to go through and no stuff to bundle into the basement for another day! Your recovery is such an achievement and we are all so proud of how far you have come, every video feels like an encouragement to value our own home spaces.

Are you planning to have the boys declutter their toy room in the basement so the unwanted toys can go to the Toy Bank for Christmas or your sharing table?
@Natalie.D
Жыл бұрын
They make little can toppers out of plastic to keep your cat food tin sealed if you are keeping half for later in the day. I suggest sealing the van and keeping it in the fridge until the next feeding. That way your kitchen will keep smelling fresh, her food will stay fresh, and you wont attract bugs into the kitchen. Great work!

I use an old sour cream or cottage cheese container. It's easier to get the lid off. And if it breaks, it can go into recycling and theres always a backup available.

Except for the dirty dishes (who doesn't have those right???), I was thinking, "Her kitchen looks really good!" Well done you! No more hoarded hot mess express! I really need to dig deep in my kitchen. I noticed my cabinets are looking pretty bad on the outside! Time for a thorough washing up!

Dear Melanie, your journey has inspired me to tackle my attic. It's not hoarded, I barely have a dozen boxes up there, but we haven't cleaned it since we moved into this house, a year and a half ago. I decided to do something similar to your basement series. Take a day each week and chop away at the dust and pieces of trash and building materials that are still up there. I will take it as slow as I need to, but each week we will be closer to a finished and clean attic. Thank you for the inspiration.

That's amazing! I remember your early episodes when there were always things on the floor in the kitchen and Pepper's corner. Now the way you keep those pretty floor boards clean is beautiful! I did a huge declutter in my walk in pantry yesterday and it's amazing how it makes you feel so much lighter. Had to get my husband to help (he's a vitamin nut - so many expired vitamins!) and he keeps saying as he opens the pantry door "This doesn't look like our house", lol.

I apologize for not posting very often. It is because I usually watch you on my television. There is no way to comment when you watch on your television. So wanted you to know how much you have meant to me over these past three years that I’ve been watching you. It made me understand a lot about myself and people that I know, it took me most of my life to figure out that I had too much stuff and that I hoard it. I never could have anything clean and nice I never could have anyone over very hard. I began to read books on minimalism and watch television, KZitem videos, and I began to clean out every day. It took me a very long time. but little by little, I began to see the light of day now I am busy helping others do the same and brings me so much joy and peace to see others succeed and as I watch you each week I get excited about your progress. Thank you for blessing me and others who have struggled so with feeling inadequate and insecure and who we are today I am blessed that most of my friends think I’m super organized but I know I’m not one thing that has really changed my life is you’re saying don’t put it down put it away. Bye for now. Much love.❤

i like that sink caddy. Yep, tackle kitchen should begin with the dishes, it reduces visual clutter. However, i suggest that final sink scrub and shine should be after the you are done with kitchen. You need to be able to rinse out your rags as you go, and that will mess the sink. I remember that yucky carpet. I felt so happy for you watching lovely floor being swept and looking so nice.

I love your videos! Something that really helps me is podcasts while I clean. I know true crime isn't everyone's thing but there are so many out there even putting on something like a sermon so you can hyper focus and enjoy whatever you're listening to while doing a less enjoyable task😊

Put the (empty) open cans of wet food away. Pepper can hurt herself by licking the cans. Very sharp. Also when opened close them and put them in the fridge. They go bad very fast. You have to wash the bowl everytime she has aten. In the video there where open cans. Maybe not everytime.

little Tip for Pepper: you can see at her Wet food Bowl that she dont eat at the sides, that is because of the whiskers, they touch the sides of the bowl and cats dont like that. You can give her a plate and she will eat also the food from the sides.

Kitchen looks fantastic. This is something I do when hosting Thanksgiving. I have a small kitchen, clear off the counters as much as possible. If not being used for T-day dinner, gets stored. When things start stacking up still possible to be organized. Remove items like fruit bowls, small appliance, etc. Then in a couple of days back to being my usual kitchen set up.

Do you have an oven liner to put in the bottom of your oven after you deep clean the bottom. I got a nonstick linear that I slip in and then slide out when I need to wipe it free or deep clean. The best part is not having to clean under heating element or have to run self cleaning cycle. I ran self cleaning cycle once before I had surgery and it blew an over heating fuse relay. It took a month to get relay replaced. All pre made meals had to wait.
