Hi Guys, Gabe the test pilot here. The plane flies and floats amazing ly well, but it was a smidge tail heavy on our 1st flight and I got careless on my approach and the tip stall caught me off gaurd. Balanced properly she's a sweetheart of a flyer and tip stalls aren't really a problem. A really fun and easy to fly airplane that looks awesome in the air.

Hi guys. It was indeed a torque induced roll at very low speed. I asked Gabe to come by the truck as slowly as possible in a landing configuration for a nice shot; as he punched to climb out after passing my truck it rolled. I left it in because it was a great save and a good piece of drama, but it was really not the fault of the airplane. A more gradual throttle up doesn't produce that result, luckly (or skillfully) he lived to learn. - Matt

You can fly it stock, but the gear are a big dodgy. If you really want it to last a lifetime, it's worth the extra bucks for the retracts. That's why I dig the ARF, you can build it to your liking the first time, and not feel like you're doing things twice. Unless you plan to get the newest set of retracts that Stuart debuted a few weeks ago on daily. If you want to install those it really doesn't matter if you start with the ARF or the PNF, either way they are worth while. - Matt

I bought the pnp version, one big F mess of wires and no instructions for it ! Spend around $500 total including shipping , 2 6cell batt. and the $132.00 recomended retracts. It does not fly but it looks nice hanging from the ceiling in my shop!

Good job getting everything to work properly. And good job with the maiden flights. I really thought you guys had lost it but thankfully you recovered it. Yeah, maiden flights are sometimes pretty Hairy..

Apart from the landing gear, the stock servos are very very fragile. They will break gears easily. Also, although its suited to high speed by design, the elevator and stab flexes at high speed. Be careful, you may not pull out of the dive! Stunning paint scheme in the flesh as well. I wish it was available in composite for gas!

dropping a wing like that is a real war bird problem, its just because of the narrow cord at the tips. A constant cord with wash out works better when it come to low speed stuff, or so I have been told.

6:14 that looked more like a torque induced roll (you can hear the motor revving up then the plane tips to the left). Its a heavy plane and it was going pretty slow there so it could also be a tip stall. Cant tell for sure.

Nice plane but it really pisses me off that you have to upgrade a brand new item. Kindof like buying a POS Blade helicopter. When you get all the upgrades done, you could have bought a t-rex 600 LOL! Anyway, great piloting skills, if you didn't know how to fly with rudder, that plane would have been toast, GREAT SAVE MAN!! J

Why put rubbish electrics in the ARTF /RTF versions when for a bit more money you can have a model that will last a while??? Some folks just want to fly, this build may be quite difficult for some. My message to Hobbyking is use high quality components, and you would still be cheaper than most. Producing poor quality models in mass numbers will work for a while, but lots of negative feed back out there ? Listen to us your customers and your models could be the best out there

Christ what is it with HK? Talk about amateur hour! They wanna sell their products yet stuff up fundamentals like CofG on a product video? The pilot had no idea about torque or low energy, he was damned lucky! I have the same model that was given to me, it's a real mess inside & would never trust it the way it is.
