Great job. Here in Australia we have a woven mesh wire similar to chicken wire, but made from 2mm (1/12”) wire. Here it’s called Wallaby Wire, and comes in widths from 30cm to 2m (1 to 6’). You could overlay it on your cattle panels, if something similar is available in USA. It would keep all the bastards in the trap. Cheers from Tasmania

I love the idea of shooting it to shut but why not just set a wire to a post that's sticks about 10 inches out of the ground and make it the center of your bait pile. That's how we use our guilatene door traps and guarantee catch alot more hogs when they set it off on themselves anytime day or night

One large hog near a pond with 500 fish in it will completely DESTROY it in one year, and you won't have a fish left. They will catch and eat chickens, ducks, cats, turtles, and even each other if hungry enough. Boars over 300 pounds will charge a man, and if given the chance, kill him. They destroy tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars of agriculture each year...food for you and me, just because some rich idiots decided to release wild Russian Boars in the environment 40 or so years ago, to increase their 'trophy hunts'. They are not native and are HIGHLY destructive. That's why.
