Hi Scott, I just repaired an accordion like this. An heirloom from my father and about 85 years old. It didn't look as bad as the one in your video. But I had to wax everything again and put new valves on it. My question, how did you make the buttons come up higher? Mine are too low too. Is it because i maybe stuck too thick felt on the valve flaps? Or is there a way to make the buttons higher? Thanks and greetings from germany 🙂

With the grill off, I use a homemade hook tool (modified screwdriver) and pull the metal lever outward until the button is fully depressed and meets resistance. Continue pulling gently causing the lever mechanism to permanently deform. Pull, release and check the button height repeatedly until you have achieved the desired button height. If you go too far, just hold the pallet down to the soundboard with a finger and push the button back down gently, rebending the lever back towards the starting position. I hook the lever as close as possible to the wooden pallet to give the most leverage. Since the metal lever from button to pallet is a 3D stamped structure, it can cause the button to either shift to one side of the hole or become angled relative to the keyboard top. I use other tools to bend the button side of the lever to reverse these new errors. It sounds complicated but you will become quick at it once you've done a few instruments. Best of luck.

@@ScottBellinger Thank you very much for the feedback and your explanation. I will try it the same way. I will report if it worked 🙂

anti resonance bar? I thought these were to keep the blocks in place. What's the theory behind this?

Wow, all of that filth that got thru the grill and onto the treble pallets looked terrifying. I would have just given up and run.
