Last year I ran Barcelona Ironman in the Rocket X2, I've got these and will be using them this year. They're about the same speed as the Rockets when I run, but these have a bit more support, which is good at the end of an Ironman, plus they're a lot easier to get on. They have more volume (bigger width and height for the same length), and they're a lot easier to get on in T2, the tongue and gusset just aren't as sticky as the Rocket.

Thanks for sharing. I personally find the RocketX2's to be easier but hey, everyone has a different stride and pref. Which Ironman aree you doing?

@@OnTheMoveMediaCo easier to get on? Yeah, that's strange then, maybe the different sizes are a slightly different shape; mine are a UK 8. To be honest, the more I run in them I'm less convinced that the Cielo will take over from the Rocket, at least for a road based marathon. I've yet to see any of the sponsored athletes wearing them. Sadly I'm beginning the think they were over-hyped.

I think Rocket X2 is a better shoe. This is literally the heaviest so-called "Supershoe" in the market now. Maybe next iteration will lose some weight and become more viable. Currently, for me they are expensive training shoes. In a way they are similar to Adidas Prime X but with legal stack heights for competitions.
