I love my new clifton 9's compared to the 8's. My one complaint is that the eyelets come up a little higher and rub on my ankle bones, especially if I wear thicker socks. I've seen a lot of criticisms about the toe box. Here's what I found: The toe box has less volume, but is slightly wider. If you have a fat foot then it might feel more narrow.

I've tried all three & so far prefer the Clifton 9. I like the upper, the more mellow offset & overall ride of the Clifton. My only concern is how the midsole keeps its bounciness over time. I've heard Hoka's can flatten out quickly. So far they feel great. If you heel strike a lot then the Triumph might be better since it has more stack in the back. The Nimbus 25 is super plush but felt too clunky overall. I also felt the upper was loose feeling. I think heavier runners will really like the Nimbus 25.

With cliftons lately the foam gets compressed and feels hard after a few miles. I remember it used to always feel plush. I just tried out the Asics Gel NImbus 25 and there is no comparison in the foam difference. I am a hoka fan boy but after testing the Nimbus 25, I'm dropping the cliftons.

Do you know if the new EVA is similar to what is used in the Mach 5? My Mach 5's went the way of the Rincon (dead foam) by about 400km's. I've bought enough Hoka's that died young by now to be pretty turned off of the brand. Longevity is a big issue for their EVA foams!

My Clifton 9 arrived earlier this week so have only had one easy run in it. It is a touch firmer than the 8, although the thicker rubber outsole might be contributing to that effect. It is a little more responsive. I noticed too that it felt a little heavier. I did not notice the arch/side wall as much as the 8. I prefer the padding and tongue in the 9.

What do you mean by this ? These shoes make me feel like I’m walking on the outside of my feet. I never feel like I need inner arch support but I feel like these shoes make my foot naturally buckle inwards unless I’m conscientious about each step and then it feels like I feel this weird pressure on the outside of my foot like I’m balancing on that part of my foot only . Is that what you are referring to ? Bc I feel like it lacks inner arch support. I’m bummed bc it’s otherwise exactly what I needed, especially the 5mm drop and feel under my toes.

There is no new Rincon 3. I guess or I hope BC that shoes are good just like Clitfon 1. Lightweight, cushioned, responsive. OK with some durablitiy issues too. But I don't know what is the Hoka's concept about Clifton. Bigger stack, almost the same weight. Is it faster? And compared to the Rincon?

The Invincible 3 is a significantly more advanced and better all around running shoe than the Clifton. Sadly, the Clifton is far behind the Nike Invincible and Saucony Endorphin line. I used to swear up and down that Hokas were the best shoes, but they fell behind. On the positive side, the Clifton might get you an extra 100 miles in longevity, but the Invincible is an absolute delight to run in if you're going long. My issue with Hoka is the same every year and it's the EVA. Not because of the feel of the foam but the durability aspect of it. It always dies out fast. If they have PEBA and ProFly+ technology, why not use it in most of their shoes? I can't name another brand that uses 3-4 different foams on different shoes in their catalogue.
@f_youtubecensorshipf_nazis

puma, adidas, nike all do it. EVA does not alway die out fast. React is eva and I have first gen react shoes that are more comfortable today than when I got them. You're not a chemist. Stop acting like you understand this stuff because you know some marketing words. --
@LFKY13
Жыл бұрын
@@f_youtubecensorshipf_nazis EVA is literally known for being the most basic industry standard foam. You don't need to be a chemist when it's public knowledge that EVA (Especially on Hoka shoes) has very low longetivity and is inconsistent because it's prone to change in different types of weathers. Even Nike is looking to slowly replace your beloved react in their catalogue because it's slowly becoming outdated especially when compared to their own zoom x foams. Also, react is EVA blended with NBR which is why it has good durability, it's not solely EVA. The EVA you see nowadays isn't even fully EVA, it's always a blend between EVA with NBR or EVA with TPU or EVA with OBC or EVA with CO2 which all makes it into a completely different foam. This is just compression molded EVA. And while I am not a chemist, I do work in the footwear and fashion fields so I am extremely educated in these subjects.
