Weed is not some harmless drug. I knew 3 guys killed because of it. The first one went off the road and hit a dumpster and his car calt on fire. They found his shoe with his foot still in it outside his car. The other 2 were in a car and went off the road and hit a tree.

Amen to that. May God bless him and protect his eternal soul. He is deeply missed. I would never listen to country music, actually hated it but decided to learn how to line dance. I was at a Las Vegas concert and Toby said that they make what they call Bus Songs and this is one that started out as one. Just silly songs that they're playing around with. This song was written about the time of the war in Afghanistan, he had another bus song about a camel driver and his wife. I've not heard it outside of a concert.

I had a friend in High School who was walking in a woody area one night in Florida in a campground. He happened to run into Willie near Willie's RV. Willie was doing a concert in Tampa Bay at the time. Willie did get him stoned, and invited him inside the RV... I met my friend later that same night, I would say anyone else was lying, but I could still see the clear shock on his face. This was 40 years ago.

I once worked in the office of a large entertainment venue/hotel. I was there one night after Willie performed & was tasked with catching him before he left to tell him about a change in his travel plans. I ran out front where the limo was about to leave. The windows were tinted & as I walked around it I wondered if he was looking out at me. I was about to rap on the driver's window when I saw the chauffeur walking toward me (he'd stepped out for a moment). I gave him the message & gave a little wave at the back window as I went back in. I think there was a wave back. But damn, I wish the chauffeur had been in the car & had rolled down the window to see what I wanted. I've always wondered if a cloud of smoke would've billowed out (that would've reminded me of high school days). Wish I'd gotten the chance to say howdy to Willie. But hey, I did get to have several conversations with Kris Kristofferson. What a down to earth, gentlemanly person he is, wonderful to speak with. I bet Willie would be great too.💙☮💙

He played for 3 hours-ish. 2 songs into it, I asked my Mom what that smell was. That night I learned what weed smelled like lol. I also learned what a contact high was. I looked at my parents and said "I feel funny." Dad just laughed. Half the people in that joint(pun intended) had lit up in an enclosed building with standing room for just 1,000 people. When we left, I was like I'm not driving. I never let anyone drive my car back then, but I did that night.

Billy has a reputation in country music. That reputation is magnified by 100 here in texas. Cuz Willie don't play games with his dope really is absolutely an ashamed about the fact that he smokes really really good weed. And he's been busted by a lot of State local police over the years not always Texas police sometimes it's Louisiana police or Oklahoma Police. Cuz really smoke weed he is on a unapologetic about the fact that he smokes weed. And those of us here in Texas just sort of look at him and go yep well that's just Willie he also plays golf. For Willie songs the most iconic is probably on the road again. But Willie is also an extraordinary songwriter. He wrote crazy which Patsy Cline made famous. He is an iconic artist and when we lose him it will be a great blow to country music.
