This Holi Special Chaat Board is much like a cheese board. The Chaat board contains you’re your favourite chaat recipe like the aloo tikki, dates chutney, dahi, green chutney, sweet tamarind chutney, chili garlic chutney, papdi, chatpate aloo, dahi vada, chips and some fresh fruits as well.
Your guests can pick up anything they like from this Holi Special Chaat Board and make their own combinations, their preferred chaat recipe, like the sev puri, papdi chaat, dahi Bhalla or aloo tikki chaat, any chaat recipe of their choice.

Recipes:
Papdi
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4-5
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
¼ cup ghee
½ tsp carom seeds
1 tsp salt
Water as required.
Method:
Rub the ghee into the flour. Add salt and carom seeds and mix well. Add sufficient water to make a stiff yet smooth dough. Rest for 20 minutes. Knead the dough again for a minute. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 mm. dock with a fork. Cut out papdi with the help of a 2” cookie cutter. Fry the papdi in medium low hot oil till pink. Remove and cool completely before storing.
Dates Chutney
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves :6-7
Ingredients:
1 cup tamarind pulp
200g dates, soaked
2 tbsp oil
½ tsp nigella seeds
½ tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
Salt to taste
Method:
Blend the soaked dates with ½ cup water in a blender.
Heat oil in a pan. add the nigella seeds, fennel seeds and as they splutter, add the tamarind pulp and the dates pulp. Add th chilli powder, salt to taste and cook till the chutney is syrupy and thick. Remove from heat, cool and store.
Dahi Bhalla
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
2 cup husked black gram lentil (urad dal without skin)
1tsp Salt
Oil for deep frying
2 cups thick fresh yoghurt
2 tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
Method:
Wash and soak the dal for 5 hours and grind to a fine paste adding very little water. The batter should be like a cake batter. Beat the batter very well till light and fluffy. To test whether the batter is ready or not, slowly drop a drop of the batter in a glassful of still water. Drop small balls of batter in the oil and fry till golden. Remove and set aside.
Green Chutney
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
1 bunch Coriander leaves
½ bunch mint leaves
1” Ginger
3-4 Green chilies
3 tbsp Lemon juice
2 tbsp roasted chana
Salt to taste
Method:
Grind together all the ingredients with ½ cup water to make a smooth paste.
