Holige/Obbattu Saaru/curry is type of rasam prepared using dal water, leftover chana dal filling of holige and spice paste. This curry is often prepared along with Chana Dal Holige/Puranpoli/Obbattu and its great way to use boiled chana dal water which is high in nutrition. flavour of saaru is combination of sweet, sour and spicy thus loved by one and all at home. Usually saaru is served with white rice and holige topped with ghee.

Ingredients
Holige/Obbattu saaru
1) Boiled Chana Dal water around 4 cup
2) Roasted spices(1tsp Coriander seeds,1/2 tsp Cumin, 1/4tsp Pepper, 1/8tsp fenugreek seeds)
3) 4-5 Red Chilies
4) 3tbsp Cup Fresh Coconut
5) small ball of Tamarind soaked in 1/4 cup water
6) 7-8 Garlic + 1 small onion chopped(skip for no onion garlic version)
7) 2spring Curry leaves
8) 1-2 Green chilies slit
9) 2tbsp Holige Chana dal sweet filling
10) Big pinch Asafoetida powder
11) Handful chopped coriander leaves + 2tbsp fresh coconut
12) 1 tsp Mustard seeds + 1 red chili broken
13) 1tsp + 2tsp Ghee for seasoning
14) Salt to taste
