The overcharmed strat is not for bragging rights, it is for killing the guards at the end as quickly as possible. Look at his setup at 2:07, 2 charms for platforming (dashmaster and mark of pride) and 2 charms for the guards (shaman stone and flukenest)

Jonathan Wei they used the shriek to stall the knight in the air so the saw could go below them. Then they hit the saw and reset their dash and jump

I’ll never understand where speedrunners get their determination, commitment, passion, and/or motivation from... not only did you have to beat the path of pain hitless, you had to do it multiple times, fast. unbelievable.

I don't do speedruns so im not sure, but I really enjoyed the path pain even when dying over and over, I actually enjoy this type of pain xD So yea, some ppl enjoy repeating it over and over in order to try and beat their highscore. And ofc you'll die less and less the more you get used to it.

It's also really satisfying to know you did better than before and seeing improvement. A lesser example is like doing a race and coming first but feeling like you could've done better. Then once you do better it feels great and you might even try to improve and see what you can do

They just have a lot of free time. Probably playing games and filming it is their only work. I cant.afford myself playing that much for example. Next September im gonna study for my PhD and i also have to work to pay for it and i have a gf and she also takes a lot of time. I havent even beaten the game yet. Ive bought it almost 5 month ago. Still i take my time to play it once or twice.

It's called menu dropping, opening the menu while falling speeds up your fall speed and removes any landing lag that usually occurs in long falls.

I’m replaying the game now on my second save. It’s pretty fun going back and playing this amazing game again, but there’s so many things I didn’t do. For example I never beat the traitor lord or attempted the path of pain, but I’m READY! I’m excited to do the path of pain, as hard as it is, and can’t wait to challenge myself.

this run took me nine hours to complete and I feel so insignificant right now 😂I love how after all the hours of torture and pixel perfect jumps, dodges, and spike bounces, the only reward the game gives you, is bragging rights. That seems like the most fitting reward for the path of pain, It's like "oh congrats you beat the hardest challenge in the game, have a 15 second cutscene and a badge, now go home." absolutely perfect.

For anyone else, it's not required and there is no real payoff. It's fine to skip. But no... 'stupid that's all there is after all that...' is what gets said.
