This is a very boring video of me building a guitar. If you don't like either the video or the guitar... I can understand why. It's the 4th build video I have put up on this channel, and I've decided to try it without music. Just the dulcet and euphonious sounds of industry. Also, most of this guitar was built during winter, so on weekends when the famous British weather was at its peak, the neighbours weren't outside sunbathing and doing whatever neighbours do in the garden, having to listen to the belt sander whirring all day or my minor expletives every time I snapped a drill bit or a tap or something. Anyway, this guitar is made out of North American Maple, bought from 'Timbercut4u', and the fretboard is Padauk from 'Exotic Hardwoods UK'. I made the horseshoe pickup mount and "magnets" out of some mild steel sheet I found lying around the garage; I used open-back Wilkinson machine heads and an unbranded Gretsch-style mini humbucker in the neck position. The electronics include a neck volume, a bridge volume, a series/ parallel switch for the bridge pickup, a two-way master tone switch and a two-way bass cut switch, similar to the ones you get on some Rapier guitars. I also included some mutes in the guitar, which, Like some of Gretsch's models, include two. One for the top 2 strings and the other for the bottom 4 strings. The rather miserable-looking B bender was made of the same material, with some square bars for the levers and the drop D switch. I know it's a little bit very incredibly wonky, and yes, it annoys me too, But I'm not smart enough to do it properly, it seems, so I have a wonky B bender tailpiece, and I have to deal with that. Also, I didn't film the process of making the tailpiece because either I was too lazy, or the stand I used to hold my phone up to film broke, and I didn't want to buy a new one because I couldn't be bothered. However, if you want to see how I made it, I'll make another one (and film it this time) to document it. But I will only do that if people tell me they want that video because it's too much extra effort to make something that most likely will not go on another guitar. If you want to see that video, please don't be put off by the last sentence- I will put it up, but only if it is asked for (which it most likely won't). Is the guitar any good?????
