@MrMZaccone
10 ай бұрын
Rather than learning to box, Rousey needed and needs to find new ways to get to her strengths to convincingly reenter the sport. Edmond Tarverdyan had her convinced she was something she was never going to be. A true champion knows their weaknesses and strengths and forces the battle into the latter while avoiding the former. Meisha Tate's defeat of Holm is a classic example of the ability to do this.
@BBBYpsi

@@MrMZaccone Hopefully if she does come back she gets different coaches. That guy was a horrible coach. Imagine if she actually had a good coach.
@MrMZaccone
10 ай бұрын
@@BBBYpsi Yeah. I didn't understand why she was suddenly trying to be a boxer instead of just learning enough striking to neutralize it and get to her specialty. At the same time, it was obvious that Holm had been training for Rousey and pretty much ONLY Rousey for probably two years. It explains why her other fights were so lackluster and why Tate was able to take her out with nothing but a different style of grappling. Holly's trained reflex when engaging with Ronda in the grappling range was to "sag" and sit back. Classic defense against turning throws. If Ronda had just switched to a double leg, Holly would have been ripe for it. It's in the Judo arsenal, referred to as "morote gari" in that style.
