I'm thinking about buying the hollyland just for the secure recording.👍🏽 the comments already told you about the volume so I'll 🤐 # new subscribers

Haha always learning. Sound is the hard thing for me. Most of the video I shoot currently already has pre-recorded sound or is just lightly peppered in in post. I will say, the HollyLands were great, I’m liking the DJI’s build quality slightly better, but not noticing any huge differences in sound quality now that I’ve done a few weddings with them

@@GrahamMediaLLC ok I read you loud and clear, but I'm now learning that the single receiver hollyland does not record in stereo and that's the one I want. What makes it worse there's no vedio telling potential customers about the difference between them luckily I saw it on a Amazon review. The one transmitter is better for me but sadly there's now a but.

Had to crank up my speakers to hear your audio, also some of your cuts are only coming through the left speaker but overall good content thank you.

Good to know, I didn’t have this issue but I’m glad to hear some feedback so I can pivot and do better next time! I just returned these and I’m gonna test and review the DJI mics next. I set my bus to -15db and tried to normalize the audio. I felt like some bits were too soft and some were too loud. Still a learning experience. I usually have tried and true equipment when I shoot weddings so some things are still a learning experience for me. Thank you!

I wouldn’t recommend doing a audio review when you clearly don’t know how to set up your gear. This sounds harsh but trust me I wish I had someone tell me all this in the beginning. The hollyland mics are incredible and you should keep them. If you tell me what your settings were I can help but quick tip, you want your camera preamps as low as you can get and your mic on the higher side as far as gain. The mic needs to do most of the work and then in post you can tweak it. These mics are not the problem. Your audio was very flat with all the mics you used. Again sorry if this seems like I’m being a jerk I’m just trying to help.

No offense taken! I’m definitely still on the learning curve with a lot of things, especially in the sound department. I did end up swapping the Hollylands for the DJI’s, which solved my line of sight transmission issues.

@@GrahamMediaLLC oh man the hollyland in my opinion is much better, don’t get me wrong I’m a huge DJI fan but I recently switched to the hollyland and I love them. Don’t go buy what your meters look like go by the sound. Meter should be between negative 12 and negative 6 I use Final Cut so idk about da Vinci resolve. My settings on my Sony a7iv were 3 in preamp and zero gain on the hollyland then in Final Cut I made a audio profile

@yankeecowboy I’ll have to look more into it, after this video I did do a little research on improving my sound. I remember adjusting everything in both the R6 and R5 but I can’t remember the exact numbers I adjusted. In my 2 newer videos I’m utilizing a Blue Yeti and currently have the R5 dialed into that. We mostly do weddings so I’ve been using the onboard storage from the DJI’s cause I’m a redundancy freak with that kind of stuff.

@@GrahamMediaLLC the hollyland also has onboard storage 8 gigs. Again great system but go with what you think is best.

I think I pushed my LUF’s down a little too far on export. Was trying a new microphone set up and all my levels in DaVinci were showing that it was super loud. I think I went overboard. I figured it out in my newer videos though!
