Servo claiming massive torque and speed for rc crawlers, best servo for bashers and 1/8 vehicles is tested. Shop servos at Amainhobbies - snp.link/c969b067
I do wonder if we are at the point where your equipment is flexing and losing significant torque. On our rotational torque meter the shv800 and a700 both hit the rated marks. The big improvement I worked on was lowering amp draw. As evident comparing our old model, it worked!
@frozenshade666

A700 test hit the max PSU amp capacity, you see the PSU dropping the voltage on the test. The test rig pull at an angle hence lowering the torque and as you said, the way the arm is attached seem pretty shady.

Well John, I stand by your products as I've had the others and broke them all and your servos have found new week spots in my rig that are cheaper to replace than servos. So congrats for that!! Plus it's silent love it. As for his test jig, I'm no expert but it seems to me there could be some upgrades as it looks like there's some flexing in some of the structure/components. Servos are getting beast and the test rig should be beast as well. Keep doing your thing. Rc review I love your channel was well but I think you need some upgrades on your test rig. I’m surprised the 800 didn’t live up to the claim, that’s not the usual Holmes Hobbies way. On 4 cell though it stomps the 800 branding! No matter Holmes is all I go with for motors and servos. I have the 500 and 800 and both are beasts!

The test rig doesn't pull strait on the balance hence lowering the result, also you clearly see on the futaba test that the PSU hit the AMP limit and lower the voltage.

Love a good RC Review Servo test. Damn this beast is brutally powerful. Such small amp draw for the power too!! Might have to measure temps after the 3rd pull Francis... I need to ask and I'm not being a smart alec, Why would you need such a powerful servo? Even an upgraded X-maxx servo is far less, 1/5th scale racers don't need this amount of power... don't get me wrong... It's wonderful to have a servo that's like "I'll rip your steering knuckles apart if you stall out on this crawl" (lol) but really?? It just seems far too brutal... Can see it now... "My Bash session ended in 30 seconds, why? My steering servo broke my saver and my knuckles...." hahaha Love how far we've come, even in the last 20 years, with this wonderful hobby! As always Francis, Thank You....

Wrong how? Please explain. The SI unit for torque is Newton-meters not Newtons per meter.
@hillie47
3 жыл бұрын
@@markclausson564 If the unit were ounce PER inch, a longer arm would give more ounce. E.g. a 500oz/in at 1 inch would give 500oz, at 2 inch, it would give 1000oz, and so on. That obviously doesn't make sense at all, so that's why the unit is a multiplication of force (or weight as seems to be common) times arm. That's why it's essential for the measurement setup to have an arm length of exactly 1 inch. But the angle also matters here and that looks to be tricky from what I see from a lot of his the RC review videos. But at least they provide some measurements that can be observed.

I just noticed your not giving it the full amps they rated the servo at for 15 volts it should be getting 5.1 amps to get that 1290 oz/in your only giving it about 4.5 or 4.7 amps
@charliebrown238
2 жыл бұрын
He cant "Give it" 5.1 amps, it can only "draw" 5.1 amps (if needed). There is no way to "Force" amperage into a servo, it only draws the amperage it needs. So @ 15v its only drawing 4.7 amps ... if his power supply couldnt keep up (with amp supply) you would start to see the voltage drop on his meter ... which is dosent. But at 900 + oz torque, it starts to get a little inaccurate ... as there are loses in metal bending and tweaking. But who cares, cause when you get to that level, you got yourself a STUPID amount of servo! LoL!
