Thank you for your emotional response to this haunting song originally recorded by the English group Dire Straits in 1985. It is impossible to react differently if you are a human being with a heart. If you need another recommendation, one of my favorites is Crazy by Home Free, an old song written by Willie Nelson but performed by Patsy Cline. Congratulations on your success with your channel.

I, too, can only handle small doses of reality. Home Free has many upbeat patriotic songs--beautifully arranged. A tribute to to Home Free's patriotism and compassion. Prefaced by the Butts medley, a great example of their vocal versatility! Christians and others find "How Great Thou Art" filmed in the Austrian Alps very inspiring.

This song definitely hits you in the feels. I’ve watched hardened military veterans reacting to this openly weeping. It’s one of my favorites of #Homefree, but it’s not something I can listen to every day. I get where you’re coming from as to your mental health standpoint. As a manic depressive, it’s a daily struggle. Over the years, I’ve found that letting go of all the stupid stuff we drag around in our heads has helped. I don’t really obsess anymore about how I think others might see me. I’ve embraced my “inner weird.” I’m a bit older than you (I graduated high school before you were born 😆), and all I can tell you is keep your head down, take it a day at a time (or even hour by hour, if that’s what it takes), and eventually you’ll come out the other side and wonder what all the fuss was about. You just have to keep moving forward and find your happy place - family, music, hobbies, whatever it is that brings you joy and peace. If you need a feel good song, try their upgrade of Listen to the Music. It will have you dancing in your chair!

I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal) Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound

The Falklands War was a major war between the United Kingdom and Argentina. This war saw both nations fighting over ownership of the Falkland Islands as well as South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The war lasted from 2nd April to 14th June, 1982 and claimed the lives of 258 British soldiers. The events of the war were what inspired the lyrics of this tune, which sees the narrator/singer singing from the point of view of a severely injured soldier who is about to die on the battlefield. His comrades stay by his side as he prepares to depart the earth. In bidding his fellow soldiers farewell, he tells them not to worry, for “every man has to die”. In his final words, he tells them how foolish “we” are “to make war on our brothers in arms”. By this, he means they should never have fought the opposing soldiers, who he considers their “brothers”. In his eyes, the war was pointless.

Yeah... this one hits hard. Peace, kindness, tolerance and acceptance are all critical for the survival of human kind. It's hard to fathom that so many people around the world don't truly understand that and are even working against it. In this cover, Home Free reminds us of how important this principle is - and its crazy cost. I love that these five men are unafraid to tackle this type of subject matter, and still produce things like the Butts Remix as well. Keep going down the Home Free rabbit hole, Saeed. So much more to experience with their incredible talent. Thank you for your genuine reactions. Peace, brother.

I have always been a fan of this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. Cheer yourself up by watching Home Free's recent cover of 'Life is a Highway'. This song that talks of how we shouldn't be going to war with anyone hits most reactors hard the ones who have served harder.

New sub here! I just finished listening to all of your #HomeFree reactions - awesome😊 Do not worry about your pauses, don't worry about talking too much, and don't worry about your English (its great by the way!) just enjoy the music and give us Home Fries your honest opinion. I watched Home Free win the Sing Off in 2013 and have been a #HomeFry ever since. We are a very loyal following and absolutely love new reactors❤ Glad to see you have headphones, even my cheap ones can pick up Tim's bass😂 and Adam's subtle sounds. A few of my fave songs are Catch Me If You Can, Cover Me Up, and Try Everything. Eager to listen to the next song!❤

This is one of my favorites of theirs. It's hard to choose favorites, but a few others that I really like are "How Great Thou Art," "Blue Ain't Your Color," "Brother," "Do You Hear What I Hear," and so many more.

I consider this one of Home Free’s masterpieces. Then they hit us with a pipe organ at the end. Now that you’ve had a dose of Chance, maybe check out “I Can’t Outrun You “(5 part harmony, and Chance’s lower register), and “Cover Me Up “- let this play out as there is a surprise at the end. Chance is a very emotive singer, and I love it.

Home Free has several "sobering" songs in their repertoire, but they are seriously outnumbered by more upbeat music. Absolutely nobody does it better than Home Free. Enjoy their entire catalogue - it's huge. For something more upbeat, try "My Church" and "Country Roads".
