The song is a masterpiece of Home Free. The fantastic harmonies, on point. And then the voices of Tim and Chance, phenomenal. But Tim's super low tones make for an absolutely perfect goosebump feeling, what a voice - wow

Being more of a metal head, I can’t get enough of these guys. Everything they do is phenomenal. While this one hits harder on a more personal level, Helplessly Hoping is still my favorite. To all my fellow armed forces vets, past and present, thank you for your service.

You are so right about the bond. I worked the midnite shift at a truck-stop many years ago, and I made the acquaintance of a man who flew F-14 Tomcats in Vietnam. He had a drinking problem, and would come in after he'd been at the bar and have coffee. He never talked to anyone, but he did tell me a little about his time in Vietnam. And One night when I was in there and it was quiet, another man walked in with an Air Force patch on his jacket. Turns out he was the pilot of an A-6 Intruder in Vietnam. The two struck up a conversation and spent the rest of the night in there talking. I tried to stay away from them and give them some space , but I could see that they were sharing stories and shedding tears . By the time they left that Tomcat pilot was stone sober. Before they parted they gave each other a warm hug. I think they both needed that time together. Great reaction. This Marine Mom thanks you for your service.

Hey HC ! Hauntingly beautiful...an aetherial quality & feeling. Home Free can be goofy guys in some videos, but they also are serious artists as well and so it with this artistic masterpiece. This is a cover of the Dire Straits song from 1985 about the dead frim the UK War with Argentina in the Falklands in 1982. Mark Knopfler wrote this, and this arrangement Home Free has done is a tweaked arrangement from a Finnish group from mid 1990's called Club 4 Five...incredible masterpiece. Please look up Home Free's two Christmas songs they put out last week...Go tell it on the mountain with a group called Texas Hill (it's an awesome gospel collab...it'll take you to church & put a smile on your face) and then last Friday, they did a cover of "Mary do you know?" it's simply stunning...they do it agaion. 2021 has been Home Free's most incredilbly creative year so far...

Ethereal. Haunting. Gut wrenching. Soul stirring. Angelic. The only thing missing was the seraphic choir backing them up. Excuse me while I track down my soul and stuff it back into my body...

This is hauntingly beautiful! AND TRUE!!! I loved the very deep bass that opened. I think the 2 up front that you can see clear through are dying and the other 3 are left to tell their story! This is the devestating story by DIRE STRAITS that was written about the problems between ENGLAND and THE FAULKLAND ISLANDS! THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Thank you for your deep thoughts, so sensitive and caring. My late father was in Bomber Command in WW2 and in his autobiography he paid tribute to the ground staff. They might not have had the "glory" of air crew but without them the planes would have been grounded. Also in an air raid they risked their lives to get planes under cover. Its not all about the famous air crew. Nana Karen UK

Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥

The light shining through the silhouettes of Tim and Chance makes them seem ghostly, like the spirits of soldiers long past. I wonder if they meant for them to reflect the image on the MIA-POW flag?

I love your reaction and brothers in arms are there for each other and would be willing to die for each other, but one thing i disagree with what you said is about family not willing to die for each other. I think that is untrue! I have lost all my siblings, and i would have easily given up my life for anyone of them.

Very Good acapella effort. Just lacks the haunting quality of the Dire Straits original. Mark Knopflers more broken vocals backed by his soul wracked guitar is , I think,a bit more heart wrenching. Written for the Falklands war in 1982.
