The original recording was by the co-writer Alex Fisher. The first major recording was by Bette Midler on her debut album, and her rendition is amazing. I had never heard of Tanya Tucker until everyone started talking as if she had some kind of ownership of the song. People who love the song outside the US love the Midler version. Props to the stylist for the great costumes, especially Brooke's fabulous dress.

Not weird Red. I think it’s because HF just adds so much richness to the song with those harmonies and great voices. So well done. I listened to Tanya Tucker’s version again and this one is my favorite. Good one Red!😄🤩

Bette Midler, Tanya Tucker & the late Helen Reddy all had hits with this in the 1970's. Ms. Eden sounds terrific with them! There's also a live video of them singing this with Maggie Baugh (who also sings with them in the video "To the Moon & Back").

Delta Dawn was written in 1971 by Larry Collins with Alex Harvey. Bette Midler performed it first on her debut album, but Tanya Tucker had the first big hit with it 1972. Helen Reddy had another big hit with it in 1973. Alex Harvey said he wrote it about his mother. The Wikipedia page has the backstory which is interesting. As usual, Home Free kicked it up a couple of notches and made it Song 2.0. These guys could sing the phone book! If that was a thing anymore! :) (all the younger folk are wondering what that was)!

Thank you for being honest! I think it was the harmonies and the great arrangement of it. Adam really used his (metal cymbals) extremely well in this one. What? Yeah! Great reaction! Low bass Kenneth

Fun Fact: That poncho that Austin is wearing was worn by Clint Eastwood in some of his western movies. Home Free is releasing Vincent ft Don McLean on Friday

I was going to say was he channeling his inner Clint Eastwood and I find it is actually the one he wore! When they were lined across the street it felt like a nod to The Magnificent Seven.

I remember Helen Reddy’s cover (didn’t know it was a cover back in the early 70’s). I didn’t know about Tanya Tucker’s because I only knew Country music that crossed over to Pop radio. It was actually co-written and recorded by two men named Larry Collin’s and Alex Harvey (he recorded it). Bette Midler was the first female to record it. I love Home Free and Brook’s cover the best, though! The guys performed this at the show we saw earlier this month. I was kind of surprised they sang it without a woman guest singer. They nailed it, though! Of course, Austin can go pretty high with that gorgeous tenor voice!

Great cover of this classic. Another "Upgrade". When ever Home Free is doing the cover, there is no need to feel bad about preferring it over the original. Home Free consistently has that effect. Love your reactions and looking forward to more.

Another fun, joyful reaction as always. I love when male groups bring in a female singer on occasion. There is just a natural timbre in the mid-range of female tones (especially in country where the tones are soft and laid back) that even "sweet" male voices don't naturally match. Her voice fills out Home Free's sound so beautifully.

Every part of their journey is extremely important and significant to Home Free and is to be celebrated. Their respect for all the groups they interact with is paying off in mega-dividends back to them. They are very intentional with their respect and are extremely humble. They look for the good in others on purpose. They look to collaborate not only with established stars but make opportunities with new rising talented artists as others have done for them. They are what is right for this industry that makes us all fall in love with them individually and collectively as Home Free!!!! They with their leadership are bringing us all along for the ride for the right reasons. Long Live Home Free!!!!❣💟

Such a great song! Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch.

This was written by Larry Collins and Alex Harvey. It's best known as a top-ten country hit by Tanya Tucker in 1972. It was taken to #1 by Helen Reddy in 1973. The original recording was released by Alex Harvey in 1971.

It's pretty repetitive so I feel ya when you said it wasn't a favorite, but I like it so much better now that Home Free covered it and Brooke Eden has such a nice voice too and it all came together nicely. The visuals of the video were sweet too. Tanya Tucker's daughter made some nice comments on their video too which is amazing.
