These guys are the real deal! You’ve seen newest and an older one from a few years ago. There’s a very deep Home Free rabbit hole to explore. They are my favorite a cappella group, then Voice Play is second. They both have their own style and they’re each best at what they do. Sadly, we found out about a month ago that Austin is leaving the group some time in the Fall. He’s been with the group since 2012, but he will still collaborate with Home Free from time to time. He has a solo music and is pursuing that as well as wanting to be home more. He will leave some big shoes to fill, but I know Home Free will find the right person to take over the high tenor spot. We welcomed Adam Chance back in May 2016 (not too long before they recorded this video) and many instantly welcomed him. Some it took a little longer. He took Chris Rupp’s place. Chris is Adam Rupp’s older brother and Chris is the one who wanted to start the group back in 2000 with his brother. They’ve had many membership changes over the years. They really took off after they won an American Reality TV talent show called the Sing Off back in 2013. They won a Sony recording contract on top of a monetary prize. I was hooked from the first song they sang! Anyway, so sorry for the long post. I could tell you really appreciate their talent. Looking forward to seeing you react to more of Home Free!

I always recommend “Folsom Prison Blues” after this one, because they perform the two together in concert. Live, Austin joins Adam with a harmonica duet. But if you want a real giggle, “Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget”, “Brother”, “All About that Bass” or “Country Fried Pop Medley”. The last two are old and with Chris not Chance. Pop songs redone with a country twang. For sadder harmonies “Brothers in Arms” “I Can’t Outrun You” “Helplessly Hoping”

That's what the sound was, the jaw harp, I knew it was coming from someone and I couldn't remember the name of the instrument they were replicating

This song was performed for a number of years before it was written down in 1913. So it predates bluegrass and country. Some groups play it in a bluegrass style and some in a more country way. It is definitely southern. In the movie they went to some effort to portray some kind of pre-bluegrass sound. I heard they used at least one singer from Union Station, so there's a chance they did it fairly accurately. Home Free is playing it in a somewhat country style because that is their tendency. They don't have banjos or other bluegrass instruments, so that would be a pretty tough ask. A more complete country style would have more guitars and maybe some keyboards. They can simulate some of that, but not quite a full country instrument band. Austin does sing with southern pronunciation, but that is fairly easy for him. He had to work very hard to suppress his southern accent before joining Home Free.

They’re so talented. They can all beatbox to a degree. Austin (lead here) can also do harmonica and joins Adam in doing it during a concert (I’ve seen them in concert). Rob on the left, Tim on the right. Chance (baritone), back left, Adam (Beatboxer) back right and Austin middle front. Chance was doing the didgeridoo sound. He can do it in concert and they record him as he says it hurts too much to do it for too long. They sing all genres of music and all take the lead depending on the song. This is bluegrass.

This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there (5 octave range) & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound such as drums, harmonica etc. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

I figured it started raining, everyone got on the porch and Rob realized he needed to rain a little himself. So he went to the edge of the porch or ran out under a tree for privacy and got wet in the process. Oh, and this is a style of country music called Bluegrass which is why you hear the Mouth Harp or Juice Harp so prominent at the beginning and end. That's being done by Chance in back with Adam Rupp wearing the black vest. Great reaction, appreciate you.

We Home Fries will help you get to 1000 subs in NO TIME!! These guys have such a wide repetoire you will never run out of reactions to their amazing songs! They were branded as the only country Acapella group but they do so much more. This song was from a movie called O Brother Where Art Thou, starring George Clooney. In the movie, it was sung by the Soggy Bottom Boys. This is Folk/bluegrass music, originally written in the early 1900's by a fiddler named Dick Burnett. Welcome to the Home Free journey Rik!!

The song was originally published in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan & Joan Baez among others. It is entirely acapella - the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is incomparable. Home Free is also ego-free, there isn't a lead singer. Whomsoever sounds best singing it, does so. 3 of them are song writers, so there are also lots of originals.

I think this is actually more blue grass than true country. Not quite the same - cousins, maybe. As good as this is, it's not even in my top 10 from them. There is so much great stuff from them. I suggest Helplessly Hoping, I Can't Outrun You or their original, Playing With Fire. But pretty much anything will be perfect. Enjoy the party.

Hi Rik, caught up with all your playlist. Sound isn't even either loud or so quiet you strain to listen. Sorry but you need to know for optimum quality. Enjoying you, and yes, I've subscribed. I would like to recommend Bass Gang, Acappella, doing Arabian Nights (these are 4 bass singers). Also Voiceplay Valhalla calling.Lastly, Geoff Castellucci sing solo I See Fire. These will surely satisfy you for the love of bass notes. Looking forward to your progression and our future enjoyment of you sing LOW!❤😮❤

Dude, your hearts in the right place but you and most reviewers are doing the artists and their work an enormous disservice by constantly interrupting their creation in order to include your comments. This is not the way this art was meant to be heard and observed not by you or any listener or viewer. It completely and permanently interrupts the flow and message these people worked painfully to achieve in the presentation of their work. It's like beginning to view a portrait and then throwing a blanket over the work right at the point the witness was discovering some intricacy of the piece so somebody could jaw over what can no longer can be seen. It ruins the experience that was intended by the artist entirely and once done can't be undone. If you like it discuss it at the end and go back for snippets if necessary as you edit, to prove your point or what you want to comment upon. You have blown the experience for those you've invited along by adding your opinions right in the middle or wherever you force an unintended change. Speak your mind yes at the beginning or preferably at the end and allow your audience the much desired privilege of hearing your points after the rendering is delivered so listeners can hear the piece and then hear your comment and decide for themselves if they agree or disagree with what you have to say. It should be what you have to say and the piece itself that others hear as opposed to what you forcefully include which are your own additions that transform the work into something it was never intended to be. Your opinions should spark discussion and debate but it only sparks gibberish if the work is altered from what was intended. If ur new at this try something different from that of ur grossly misguided colleagues and you'll be rewarded for facilitating a true reaction, not an altered version from someone not the artist of the work. It's art good or bad treat it with the respect art deserves please!
