You can see Chance doing the mouth harp sound, but it was when you were reacting to the light falling. Go to about 6:08 in THIS video and you can see/ hear him. The mouth harp was also called the Jew's harp, but it has been 'renamed' the jaw harp in recent years.

There was a quick second when Chance was doing his didgeridoo or jaw harp near the end of the video. He also does other sounds like guitar. You should check out "Can't Stop The Feeling" again. Watch them when they stop singing and do only instrumental sounds. These guys are all so talented and all contribute to the "music" in their a capella songs.

You guys missed the very last view of Chance because you reacted to your light falling. I believe they’ve said he’s doing Mongolian throat singing and he says he can’t do it for very long because it hurts so they usually use the looper for that. Great reaction! (Go back and watch the last 30 seconds of the video and you will see that it’s him making the sound. Not too many people catch it)

Nice you are sharing this fabulous group with your wife. I think she is a homefry now. This was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies & Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is done in the bluegrass country style. Actually if you watch the very end of the song it shows Chance doing the jaw harp sound. You guys were distracted by your light falling over. And glad you caught Tim's dropping the bass even lower after his solo. I agree that Adam is in a league by himself. Love the cool sounds he is able to make!

It's by several different names, jews harp, mouth harp, jaw harp. It's a little instrument that has a round piece that you hold in your lips vertically, on side of the circle form a small "handle", barely able to hang on to really, where the handle comes together there is a strip if spring steel that's slightly longer than the body of the harp, it's not very wide, maybe 1/8". To play it, you hum the notes you want while strumming the spring steel (that's what gives it the reverberating sound. Hope that helps a bit. Glad to have you in the video Ninja, Jeremy's a class act but you bring more class!

At the very end of the video, don't even blink or you will miss it, the camera switches to Chance doing the jaw harp sound. It is very understated and only there for a few short seconds. The instrument is known by several names, depending on what part of the country you are from. Jaw harp is the one I hear most often now a days, but from the region my family hailed from it was know under the non-politically correct term of Jews harp, and second in popularity as Juice harp (for obvious reasons, or maybe some people just produce more saliva than other parts of the country) but Chance is the stealth producer of the sound. Hi Tiny ninja and thank you for making Jeremy's channel successful. Love the inter play between you guys. My husband and I are celebrating our fiftieth anniversary this year and by the way you all laugh together you are right on track to one day celebrate your own. Playing the jaw harp (juice harp/Jew's harp - originally the last of them was the name, and other names came along to avoid obvious social discomfort): You *can't* bite down on it! The secret to getting the characteristic sound out of them is blowing a gentle stream of air across the instrument as you pluck it, and making the movements to vary the pitch REALLY small. It takes a little bit of practice, but once you figure those things out, as a 6th grader with a jaw harp you can be driving your parents crazy in no time. (They never did tell me how my jaw harp mysteriously got "lost" overnight....) But now that I am in my late 50's, with grown kids of my own, I understand what happened a bit better.

You DID see him do it (but you were distracted by a studio malfunction...) The genre of music is (sorta) Bluegrass, à la 1910's - this song is originally from 1913, I think. Plus I was born in Annapolis and raised on the Eastern Shore of MD, so you're reaaaaallly close to my roots, right? Anyway, kudos to you guys. You've really done well for starting just in March. Great reaction. Jillian noticed it's raining, btw. She is very observant. Just sayin'. I think this song, at least for me, is more of a bluegrass/southern rock style. The version of this that I know from the Soggy Bottom Boys was faster and more bluegrassy, with an edge. I'm a Home Fry, for sure, but sometimes they're so good that they miss that "edge" that I love in music. Anyway, I love this version. It's probably my favorite. Home Free made this a pseudo hip-hop song, but with this southern rock flare (think Little Feat - Dixie Chicken) and with an added bluegrass flavor. Again, love y'all. We actually want Jillian back. I do, at least.

Nice to see you both. That was really fun! I love this song. There's one thing that has puzzled me since I first heard the Home Free version, though. I already had heard the movie soundtrack that contains the song, which actually refers to the "underground railroad," that was used to transfer slaves from the south to the north, secretly. I kind of thought, back when Home Free came out with it, that they might explain that, but they didn't, and nobody else has ever mentioned it that I've heard (and I've heard a TON of reactions to the song, over the years, now. Since HF sings it as if Austin were the one "riding the train," and Austin is clearly not of the skin color that would have been taking that ride, so many years ago, plus the fact that as much as he tries sometimes, he really can't hide his Georgia, down-home accent, I had wondered if there would be some bad reactions by the people that probably had ancestors that really did "ride that train." I'm happy that there do NOT seem to have been anyone griping about that, even after all this time, but it still puzzles me that nobody even seems to be AWARE of what "train" the song is referring to.
