Lisete da Silva Bull, of The Brook Street Band, teaches a masterclass on French Baroque music. French Baroque, as a musical style is a language unto itself. Lisete introduces its 'grammar', which comprises social history, music history, instrumental development, its players, their instruments and what was around to influence what you see and hear. In this masterclass we delved in to the pieces' history, the players and instruments around at the time, how to interpret the music, ornaments, the language of the style and technical tips.
