I know! I can't wait to see their next home tour. It's going to be insane, I can feel it. I wonder if they'll keep up their love of bold marble in the next home... What's your prediction?

So much inspiration here! They managed to keep their family focused home cozy, comfortable and approachable with loads of timeless style and quality. They’re the masters of this combination. 5 ⭐️s Thanks Lindsay; great commentary!

I must admit that even though I've seen this particular house tour before I never noticed some of the details that you pointed out Lindsay, like the predominance of marble topped tables. You have such an eye for detail! May I suggest that you check out (if you haven't already) Troye Sivan's house tour on AD? I think that that house might be my favorite in terms of color and styles used in the space and I'd love to hear your takeaways.

Thanks so much Colin, I’m glad my perspective helped you see a few new things in this video. It’s so much fun to sit and talk about these designs, and look for inspiration for our own homes. I would love to discuss Troye’s home! Thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏻

Hi Linda!!! Just stumbled upon your channel this morning!!! I definitely agree with you on themed children's room!!! It's very tired and cliché in my opinion and costly overtime!!! Love what Nate & Jeremiah have done for their children's rooms!!! It has given me inspiration for my niece's bedroom!!! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel!!!

I think Poppy’s room is indeed a themed room- the theme is pink! The nightstands are pink, the bed is pink, the polka dot chair is classy, but still wouldn’t go anywhere else in their house as per my understanding. And the wallpapers complete the look. It’s a beautiful room, honestly. And I certainly like kids bedrooms to be a little sanctuary for them. I would say that when kids want to decorate their space, it’s also about paying an homage to their own passions and interests. That being said, I also really like the idea of them learning about interior design, especially as a way to gain appreciation for their own space, and learn how to express themselves with more thought and mindfulness. But yeah let them have fun lol

I hate the beach ball accent pillows too! As for Poppy's room, I think the only thing they can probably keep is the wallpaper for a teen room. Her art isn't too kiddy either. Everything else would have to go. The carpet is the hardest thing to change. I dislike carpet in any room, the only exceptions are wool area rugs.

I love their children’s rooms. I do not consider them to be “themed.” I feel that they are “whimsical and fanciful” and can be changed up as the years go by. I feel that the rooms will allow their children to use their imaginations.

I completely agree about themed rooms. Do something that will grow with them, instead of having to completely redo everything every few years. It will teach them not to be wasteful and to appreciate classic design, versus disposable trends.

I completely agree. It’s important to help kids understand the value of money, the beauty in imperfection, and help them find a little bit of their interior design style along the way. I’m grateful for my mother for giving me the opportunity to learn about interior design and choose things for my bedroom. A lot of those furniture pieces went with me into my young adulthood and into my first homes, and made those homes feel like home.

I think he and Genevieve Gorder and Danielle Colding were the first designers who stressed having items in your home that tell a story.. and reflects your personality and what you are about...

It's a lotta look, that's for sure. I love that they gave her some freedom in selecting things for her space. Nate has shared in the past that his mother allowed him some creative freedom in designing his childhood bedrooms, and it definitely led him toward his passions. I hope to do that with my future kids if I'm lucky enough to have a couple.

I don't like themed kids rooms either. What we did with our sons room before he was born was we painted it in a very light blue/green color very calming with modern furniture clean lines and as he was growing he liked Cars by Disney so we bought a Cars comforter and pillow case and a plush then when he liked Starwars we bought the starwars comforter and we put the Starwars lego he made on the shelves now he's eleven so the bed sheets are neutral and he has Naruto and My hero academia posters in his room and Roblox stuff so it's very easy to transition in what he likes without having to change everyting in the room. I get totally what you mean Lindsay. Maybe it's a teacher thing😁😁
@LindsayLiving

That’s a great way to do it, you don’t have to theme out the whole room, maybe it’s just a few key touches while they are in love with that particular thing, then it’s an easy swap later on when they ask for something different. I think you’re right, it’s totally a teacher thing. I just can’t pass up a teachable moment - especially with something as fun as interior design. ❤️

I don’t think they need to currently live there for this property to be inspiring. Honestly, this is one of the most inspiring homes I’ve seen in the last several years and I’m using it a lot when thinking about designs for our home. Honestly, from what I know of both of them, they probably found a great new property and were excited for a new challenge. They also shockingly sold their California dream home as they discussed in this video, even though it was their dream home. They were looking for a different location in NYC.

I SO agree about those stupid sphere pillows--"Eww, David." In the late 90s, Walmart carried a line of plush sports ball pillows in that same size. They were like basketballs, soccer balls and volleyballs for kids rooms. That's all I see when I look at these sphere pillows!!! No matter the material, it gives me the feeling of a cheap Walmart kids pillow in a big metal bin funking up an otherwise beautiful sofa or chair 😂 I also agree about kids rooms. Let kids be kids? They're still kids without a SpongeBob or Peppa the Pig themed bedroom, folks. My daughter's only 2, and when she's old enough can help choose elements for sure, but not at the expense of a room in my home looking tacky. I'll guide her toward what is actually beautiful and let her put her spin on it.

You are so right! I didn't think of it that way. Maybe the Open Door format is their house tour video format and they just put everyone in that group. It's so much more fun to take the tour with a designer who can explain WHY all of the decisions were made and offer some inspiration beyond "I totally love lemons!!" when the decor stylist just placed them there for the shoot. 😂

The prints in Poppys room are TOO OVER THR TOP.. I don't like pink and there are many girl choices in color thst aren't over whelming.. I don't like their personal style even though I do like Nates line at Target But I do understand that parents usually do do pinks in girl rooms They seem like fabulous ppl w great kids

It's a lot of print. I like the idea of using a self-stick wallpaper in a kids room - making it easy to change out once they grow out of the print. They let Poppy pick out a lot of what is in her room and she wanted pink on pink on pink so they indulged her.

And what tf is wrong with pink? If I ever had a little girl, I'd want her to express her feminism through colour. Would you HATE blue for a boys room? You people always seem to want to water down girlhood to fit your silly "gender neutral" preferences. Hate to break it to you, but there is no such thing as gender neutral because gender is not neutral it's exclusive.

@@cyrilmatsoukas4804 are you speaking st me? I had an opinion on the print.. I'm very big on neutral colors in general.. Not because of genders! Listen up.. don't insult parents raising gender fluid children either! It's narrow minded ppl like you that need to shut your dh!+ down.. I simply do not like pink! I like many girlie colors as well as gender neutral and no.. I don't like blue! I do like grays and beige w a hint of navy .. But not because maybe a boy wants to be gender fluid.. Live and let LIVE
