I love that they give an emotional music sting to the final shot of the bunks. This show understands the cinematography of Trek so well, and this is what they do when they're about to disassemble a set for the final time. A fitting send off to the Lower Decks themselves.

@@AJFisherDesignit’s not supposed to though. I think it was explained at one point that holodecks and holosuites were different things. The former was for more casual recreation and research purposes while the holosuite (like at Quark’s) was pure recreation (including the R18 kind). But then the Cerritos is also a very different crew by starfleet standards so some rules probably get broken.

The college share thing is mostly economic. Splitting a rent with others is cheaper than living alone and the University saves money by getting as many people as possible into a single building. @xxnightdriverxx9576

Pretty sure they basically invented this hallway bunk setup for this show. With the size of any starfleet ship and their crew complement, everyone should be able to get a small room to themselves, the ships are large enough for that. Just for comparison, we have cruise ships irl that are 300 meters long and only 30 meters wide (so a tiny part of the volume of Starfleets saucers) that have up to 1000 individual cabins that can house multiple thousand people in total (though the cabins are only like 10m²). Starfleets ships are much larger but only have a fraction of the crew complement. Yes they need lots of internal space for storage and systems, but even if only half of a saucer is dedicated to crew space and some of that is taken up by holodecks, bars, mess halls etc, that should still be enough to get everyone in cabins, not a hallway. Maybe 2 people in one cabin. The Cerritos is fucking large (even though there are multiple different numbers for its length) the saucer alone is at least around 300 meters in diameter and has 11 decks. For comparison, a Galaxy class saucer is 460 meters wide and around 320 meters long and has 18 decks.
