You will feel a lot more chest slam with these, they really will shine above 30-40hz. 20hz and below the nod will go to the pb16 ultra because of the ported design, not by much however. The JTR will take the lead for 10hz most likely because that is below the port tune of the PB16 Ultra. John Wick Chapter 3, last shootout with these subs is crazy.

i have seen a few ported enclosures measurements, its really closer to 80hz before ports lose their benefit in output. but also that means that ported box almost intelry produce sound from the port and not the woofer cone. so sealed have sound quality benefits. but then i would also recommend sealed main speakers also.

Even at 100% efficiency, which is impossible, just one of these things would draw 33.3 Amps from the 120V AC line at 4000 Watts. I could be wrong, but I doubt you have an outlet that would supply that. And if you plug both of these into the same circuit it's double trouble. These things need to be 240V. Hope you don't blow your circuit breakers or rip your screen. Edit: I see they offer a 6000W version and it does use a 240V input.
@gerald8289

Speaker Power makes insane amps, and they do put out advertised power. They have been tested heavily on avs forums. They're about 90% efficient and will hold full output for at least 5+ seconds and then start to pull back. Even with pulling 30+ amps, the breaker will hold for a regular outlet because of the way breakers trip on overload. It will allow overloads for a short time before tripping. For example, and SquareD QO breaker will allow 2x the current to pass for a minimum of 9 seconds. And 5x the current for at least 1 second. Look up breaker time current curves for a better understanding.

@@jimbert50 Most music and movies have greater than 10db peak to average ratio which means if you're playing at max volume, with a 4000 watt amp then you're only averaging 400 watts. The industry considers 1/8 power draw to be normal. The 4000w amplifier's 1/8 power rating is 600w or 5amp at 120v however I recommend 1/4 power rating of 1200w or 10a at 120v. Pink noise has a 6db peak to average (crest factor) which means the average power is 1/4 the peak. Also, circuit beakers are design to flow several times their rated current for short periods of time.

The output rating on subs has very little to do with the maximum power a circuit can draw without tripping the breaker. Two subs with 4000 watt peaks may only draw 1000 watts (if you measure it with a device like a kill-a-watt.) I don’t understand all the details other than things like capacitors can store energy and deliver it in bursts, etc
@battousai412

Doesn't work like that jon. The plug area is just telling you it requires a 120v us outlet and the fuse rating is 8amps. Depending if your on a 15amp or 20amp wall outlet circuit this tells you about how many of these you can plug into it and not trip the breaker. Your not drawing anywhere near what that sub outputs. And should you draw more current than that sub can take the fuse will or should blow to protect it. Hope that clears things up a bit, I have a terrible migraine and I didn't want this to get too long.

The Captivator RS2 can only ship freight, strapped to a pallet because of it's weight. The box is 500lbs rated, double corrugated.

If you buy 11 speakers and 4 subwoofers, I bet Tony and Jeff would offer you a discount. 😀 In all seriousness, Jeff doesn’t have much markup on his speakers and subs so I’m not aware of any discounts. Jeff uses high end components. To give you an idea, the cost of the coaxial driver alone is $900.
