Creator of Halo Revamped here, thanks for keeping the game alive all these years later it always brings joy to my heart. I moved in with my dad to have a stable life and my dad and step mom ended up getting into a divorce not even a year later so me my dad and brother lived in a basement with not much but I had a PSP and was active in the quake scene. Id spend all my days off of school in the basement learning to code map and add all the features that the Solitude Devs didnt add to their leaked builds. It ended up becoming its own thing and its wild to me that everyone remembers Halo Revamped but not Halo Solitude. Many of the assets came from Halo Solitude, the whole base game. I just coded in everything I wanted in as a fan of halo and Solitude like Reload animations, Grenade counts, a HUD, firefight, ai systems etc. As someone who looked up so highly and was inspired by them I got to give props and credit. Halo Revamped one of my proudest works was what made me grow into who I am today. I ended up getting so far into game development I grauduated highschool by making a game. Thanks for keeping my work and flaming ice work alive, its always a pleasure to see it pop up years later. PS, I ported it to 3DS as well, and the Plasma Rifle does not work in general it was added to the code but never finished. If anyone wants any of the code or any other older quake mods I ended up using mediafire back in the day and have DL links to this day. Have a good day everyone!

That Cave Story port brought back some memories, I remember playing that on my tablet with a PSP emulator while I was on holiday with my family, it's actually how I got the true ending for the first time. Apparently that version was made with Pixel's approval which is honestly really cool. Also I never expected to see Touhou on this channel, holy shit.

Strafing in the original Wolfenstein 3D was different to what we're used to now. Because strafe turning didn't exist until Doom, it looks janky here on the Wolf3D port due to what I imagine to be a programming trick designed to accommodate the limitations.

If you're considering buying a PSP, do yourself a favor and consider a Vita. It can run any software the PSP can, licenced and homebrew, plus it has its own robust homebrew scene and library of licensed releases that the PSP can't run.

14:23 be warned tho, it doesn't play like actual Geometry Wars at all. The enemies spawn at random immediately at an extremely fast rate, and the type of enemies that gets spawned do not do so in a gradual way, e.g. you'll encounter the red circles almost immediately after you start the game. There is no difficulty buildup at all. That said, there is *another* Geometry Wars clone on the PSP that does have the gradual difficulty buildup, but it doesn't have sound effects, though I'd consider it slightly more faithful to the original.

Three ports I really liked at the time are the ports of the Zelda : Return Of The Hylian trilogy, a serie of pretty decent Zelda fangames that were ported to PSP since the creator released his games open-source. I also remember CSPSP being a really popular Counter-Strike "port" (more like a 2D reimagining) for multiplayer. I also remember an Halo port, but I don't think it was Halo Revamped and I don't think it was Jalo either, I could be mistaken.

Thank you for making this! I remember asking for it back when you made the psp emulators video that i still use to this day as a reference for what emulators to download. Just as a quick note, There is another version of doom, heretic and hexen that are more of a straight port from the MSDOS version than using the legacy source port. Heretic and Hexen don't have any music, but doom does and even if the aspect ratio is stretched to fill the screen it is my prefered way of playing doom in my psp. It runs very well with music and all, it doesn't add any of the new mechanics like looking up, enemy behaviour seems to be the exact same being a straight port and it uses way less memory than psp legacy. So you might want to check it out.

Hm, so when my uncle gave me my psp I had him put minecraft on my psp in 2012 so he had to hack it, but he'd already loaded a massive library of games onto it ( in anticipation of online services shutting down ) so I think he had hacked those onto it much longer ago than that, as he had said that he had gotten it for me around when I was a baby, so he probably hacked it sometime between 2004 and 2012, and might have even been among the first to do so, so I guess it's no wonder that the pandoras battery has failed, and brought the whole thing down with it

Could you do a video on DS homebrew? DS homebrew is interestingly on both flashcarts like R4 cards, and on other means like Petit Computer which is an official app for DSi (which you can still download on 3DS), and Smile Boom 3D (don't know why they used the original name for the 3DS version of the program, but whatever). @FrameRater

I don't know... the thing is it would have to be emulated, and I'm not sure how reliable that would be given an emulation doesn't utilize the same file structure. This has been the same confliction with people telling me to check out the 3DS. I don't have the means of capturing said hardware directly. Not only that, but methods of capturing them directly seem to no longer exist anymore regardless.
