Here's a pro tip for making sausage patties for those that have arthritic hands or are just cold sensitive, and it saves time too. Line a sheet pan with parchment or wax paper, place ground meat on paper, roll out to edges with a rolling pin (I use a marble pin for cleaning purposes instead of a wooden one, but you can use a glass too, and just put a little water on either to keep it from getting ground meat sticky), use a pastry/bench scraper to cut into desired sizes, use a spatula to lift individual patties, then you only need to use your bare hands to form up the edges. They'll be square instead of round, but if it hurts your hands, you won't care, and really, what does it matter what shape they are? When wrapping patties to freeze, the square shape will cut down on the amount of air trapped in between them. But if you're dead set on round patties, use a biscuit cutter instead of the pastry/bench scraper. Your kitchen, your choice. When meat is partially frozen before being placed in a grinder, it's better for your grinder motor and keeps it from getting too hot. The small rounded leaves at the bottom of those tomato plants are called sucker leaves and should be removed, because they suck a lot of nutrients from the rest of the plant because they are the first leaves nearest the root, and by removing them your plants will be stronger and healthier. Hate it when folks don't give ingredients for something when folks take the time to watch the video, then we have to chase the recipe across the internet or just forget it altogether.

Used to work in a butchers shop. In an effort to save your hands, you could ball up your meat, place them between parchment squares, then use a heavy can (such as a bulk ketchup can) to flatten it. It's how we did burgers. Thought it might save you some time and effort going forward! I still make burgers that way at home.

Hey Chelsea, just watching this vid today (Nov 12/23)… in regards to your explanation about the ‘tiny hairs’ on the tomato plant, I just wanted to share, that I believe those tiny hairs are a clue (despite the white orby thing you talked about), a clue that if that hairy stem is planted horizontally, multiple plants will grow from that stem. I experimented with these types of stems with both zinnias and sunflowers. I was thrilled to see that my zinnias grew a stream of new stems that produced zinnia flowers! Same with the sunflowers! So, I dunno, the hairy stems are a good clue that multiple plants will grow if planted horizontally in the soil…

We do not have Bulk Barn. I found this information when I looked it up: While bulk bin sections can be found at many grocery stores in the U.S., but there is no American equivalent to Bulk Barn in terms of its scale and ubiquity. BB has been around since 1982 and currently has more than 275 stores selling over 3,000 products across Canada.Nov 15, 2022

It is strong but so smooth and great tasting better than the name brands. I am going to try their green tea for $2.00 for 40 at bedtime. Thank you for sharing your life.

Sounds like your daughter is following closely her mother in the kitchen!! Awesome looking pizzas! Those ribs I bet were incredible!!! How many pigs did you butcher at one time? Your salad greens look delicious! Do you know for each of those tiny lettuce seedlings you can grow and entire head of lettuce! If you just trim the outer leaves as it grows and leave the Center to continue growing but you will have to pot them up into their own pots like you did the tomato plants even if you just do a dozen or so you will be amazed how they will grow and very quickly! That way you won’t have to use as many seeds because growing microgreens can get very expensive buying seeds especially lettuce seeds. Even buying a few thousand at a time you have to use a lot of seeds when you are growing just microgreens. So use those seeds to their fullest potential and grow full plants instead. Just an idea. 🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻
