Is because they don't treat supes as intelligent people with conscious class or politics, in fact they don't have, not even tek knight who has multiple relationships with the rulling classes has, Neuman on the other hand has worked for political positions so she is well aware that appealing to their dominance as the socioeconomical rulling class at least give them points. Only people like Madelyn stillwell or stan edgar could be capable of truly make a business to them but not the supes, Sage tho was an opportunity yet she was lobotomized by brain, the show is self conscious how childish this situation is, superheroes be bad or be good cannot change the world and that's a key concept in similar stories like Watchmen. I truly love this narrative, while the boys focus on killing supes and vought as the problem, there's much bigger problems happening around vought and its powers

I like the consistency in the fact that Homelander flounders here. Sure, he has extensive media training and knows how to play a crowd. But that’s just it. He was specifically trained to manipulate the masses, not those who actually wield power at the apex of society. And the fact he fails to do so here reinforces the truth that he has always been a tool for the elite, even if he can literally pose a threat to them physically. Overall, even when has been elevated to high levels of influence and power, he is still incapable of fulfilling his ambitions without luck and the guidance of others more knowledgeable than him. Perhaps this level of higher manipulation can be a skill he can learn, but we all know he doesn’t have the patience for that.

@@RyomenAyeni225 did I say not I said very little especially compared to previous seasons and when I mean the plot I mean overarching plot for the season. U named a bunch of characters who had progressions in there storyline to some degree which I agree with but I think frenchie kimiko and starlight( who I’m prob most disappointed about) has literally halted or went backwards …there is no goal or target for the season .. u listed taking over the presidency yes the idea but a lot of the details needed for it has largely just not been dealt with.. like how is Neuman sage and homelander going to do this or why do they need internment camps like wth.. love the homelander part but if u just compare S3 which had to do with finding soldier boy getting his revenge as the overarching plot line or S1 which was finding out voughts secret and compound V I don’t get this one YET but that’s just me the next 2 weeks I could be eating crow but you just stated events in an episode

They all question Homelander on how he's going to achieve his coup but don't say anything to Victoria even though she also doesn't say how they're gonna pull it off... Sure. I like the ambition of the season but the writing feels more simplistic, almost like the comic in a sense. I miss how tight the previous season felt, this one just feels scatter brain and all over the place; not to mention how regressed The Boys feel when it comes to characterization. Except for Huey and MM, their plots I like quite a bit.

The basis of this scene is flawed. Homelander tells them the President will be deposed by congress using the 25th Amendment of the Constitution. One of them tells him that that is a coup, and rather then respond that it is not a coup because the president will be deposed by constitutional means Homelander goes on some rant about it being patriotic even though the politician was not asking him about the morality of the president being deposed. Firstly the man should know what the 25th amendment means. The script should have had him ask Homelander how they were going to get enough congressmen onboard to impeach and remove the president. Homelander then should have said that they could threaten enough of them to get it done and fabricate evidence that the President supported the attack on Firecracker. The politician could have responded that fabricating evidence was not possible or that they would be caught trying to threaten congress. Homelander then could have responded that they would then carry out an illegal coup which would have led very nicely into the rest of the conversation in this video.

The point of the scene is that homelander doesn't know what he's talking about. He would have certainly explained it if he was another character, but his character is that of a child.

@@Number-id3dd What I am saying is that the politician should understand the way politics works and the script should have had him say what I said he should have said. I understand that Homelander is not a constitutional scholar but given that the script shows hims as being knowledgeable enough to know about the 25th amendment it only makes says that he should have explained that congress using the 25th is not the same as launching an illegal coup.

How is this scene bad though? Homelander attempted to convince them by reciting talking points he uses on the general population, but didn’t work due to the upper class’ interest in deviating the conversation from class discrepancies (which Homelander is unknowingly playing along). Sage had the points to convince them, but got shot. Neuman did not have Sage’s plans, but knew where to steer the conversation to say things they wanted to hear; makes sense she’s Vice President.
