It was sent to council that's why people were allowed to tent in beacon hill my video was accepted and played in front of council to help make their decision.

Ohh. I have no trust in council. I feel like beacon Hill should have been done in a different way. You talk about the violence this city has...it is true. I moved out of James bay...my parents are thinking of moving out of downtown. This shouldn't be allowed. Organizations should work with communities to discuss and come up with something people are happy with.

The sober homeless people should only be allowed at beacon to protect it and the one's with addiction have to stay downtown near the help they need and food and resources. In my 6 years of being homeless out here I've only seen 2 or 3 people in beacon hill tenting that did drugs the rest were sober. Now they made everyone leave pandora and out them all in beacon

Here in Austin, Texas the city 🌃 does the same thing. They drive around to certain parts and tell the homeless that they have to pack up and move along so in other parts of Austin they have congregated. However, about a year ago Austin took some property that is city owned, cleaned up and told the homeless that they could move their tents ⛺️ there. The tents ⛺️ were given to them by the Churches ⛪️ and the residents of Austin who choose to donate. Might be something that you could suggest to your City Council. So far I have donated a lot to the homeless personally. When I drive by and I see the homeless People standing around talking I stop and drop off items that I no longer need but it is disappointing when the homeless are told to move and they can only carry so much with them. By the time they come back around for what they had to leave behind; the city has already come by with a truck and have disposed of their possessions.

you should try going to Rhino Labour - get paid at the end of the day and can work daily and find new job opportunities - I am born and raised in this city and used to be able to count all of the homeless people on my hand - why come here then? Labour Unlimited, Rhino Labouring - they will provide work and you can start earning.. Want me to help you get work its not to hard

Done all that. I have a job getting paid $20 an hour for an organization that advocates for homelessness. I'm a program developer and public speaker for The Existence Project I do what I'm passionate about I'm glad I didn't sell myself short. For construction wok and labour now I get paid to help people with my lived experience an help government make decisions around homelessness. Like how and where to spend funding for housing etc. www.coryresilient.com what your expressing is an example of stigma. You assume because I made video about when I was homeless that you should force-feed me job opportunities that don't take much intellectual skill or have any real meaning impact or purpose. I'm housed and employed I have a formal contract and am now the face of an organization. Google it. 🙏

@@CoryResilient Great job! Happy for you - stigma? No it's reality people are moving here to try to get free housing and live off the system - I am glad you have found opportunities here and are thriving now - for the rest of the people who are in situations similar to what you have gone through tho? Why come here? What do you think needs to be done in the community to help these people? Clearly it's getting out of hand here "You assume because I made video about when I was homeless that you should force-feed me job opportunities that don't take much intellectual skill or have any real meaning impact or purpose." Why are you disrespectful towards people who are trying to better them selves and putting efforts in to society and contributing / working ? No one is "force feeding" you lmao I did temp labour work and now run a tech company for the last 3.5 years - you need to wise up and be more respectful - it's honest hard work buddy Instead of sitting there playing the victim maybe you should open you mind and change your thought process and not bash people who are working "opportunities that don't take much intellectual skill or have any real meaning impact or purpose" So disrespectful - you want compassion and sit there and degrade people doing that work What we need to do is invest in mental health and stop incentivizing homelessness here in the city and addiction - our police force is literally saying people are now moving here out of province to benefit from the social structure to take care of the vulnerable people here in our city and now people from all over are coming here and abusing the resources... if you don't have the means to come here and contribute and are looking for handouts - it's not acceptable - stay put, seek help & find resources locally as clearly here the social system put in place for this is overwhelmed now...

WRONG. FALSE. WRONG. people are moving here because it's a war zone and they don't want to die where we come from you got it easy Victoria bc is the richest nicest place in the NICEST COUNTRY YOU CAN BE IN. IN THE WORLD warm climate. Fresh air beautify views it's healthier and we all strive to have a better quality life you fool there is no housing out here I was homeless 6 years out here it's all an illusion I can tell you haven't been around the block you complain from your tree fort on your island in the suburbs comes to Toronto it makes Surrey look like a fkn joke cuz it is. You wouldn't last a day in the streets where I'm from. People just want away from all that shit they come to a nice place and have no family no parents no friends no foundation and have to start from nothing. Fool. That's what I did. Came from hamilton and Toronto your so privileged and blind it's embarrassing. Pure ignorance and lack of real-life experience.

@@CoryResilient lol yes name calling is a way to show respect - I don't know your past and I dont think you can really comment on the way "i grew up" You sound pretty ignorant as well buddy - go back to Hamilton then - clearly the population who is coming here is turning victoria now in to a war zone as you call it lmao... I have lived pay check to pay check as well buddy and i understand i am fortunate indeed but you are missing the mark in regards to my message and brining up shit that is not relevant
