I have quite a few questions. 1. did you layer fabric on the plaster mold or on the airsoft helmet and then plaster mold it? 2. what steps did you use to layer the fabric? Did you do fabric, epoxy, then wrap it? 3. how did you keep the fabric still? 4. when you used plaster did you just dump it in the bag? 5. did you remove the wrap from the finished epoxy resin fabric helmet?

First of all Congratulation for the Idea. Help me here, you use the helmet like an shape you put (inside or over the helmet) the kevlar layer)? That is the first question. The second one is what caliber do you test? Tird one: You just pile the layer an make them stay togheter using the epoxy?

you can also use the 40 layer resin pressed uhmwpe fabric and 20 layer resin pressed fiberglass and 10 layer resin pressed carbon fiber. for making the bulletproof helmets the aramid fabric also are good. make sure it resin pressed.

What specific kevlar did you use? I know PASGTs we're built with Kevlar 29.

Havel Composites 173g/sqm plain weave aramid fiber fabric. It's not made by DuPont afaik, so calling it Kevlar is a bit of a misnomer. But it's cheaper than the branded stuff and does the job. (The patent for kevlar expired, so anyone can make it, but without using the trademarked name)

@@leserpent90 oh alright! Oh and another good way of getting rid of air bubbles without vacuum would be making a male and female jig/molds and have them tightened tightly.

@@justin764 Tbh, I thought of that, but without having something with the dimensions of the finished shell, it would be difficult to make molds that fit adequately. There are ways around this problem, but it would represent more work than what I was willing to put into the project.

@@leserpent90 Eeyep. I was thinking of making a mold out of woods or something. But this is really neat and it will help me with my project! I was actually thinking of making a shell out of UHMWPE and a shell out of kevlar over it

@@leserpent90 quick question, how much fabric did it take? Like if you added up all the sheets you ued how much width and height?

Do you use Resin or Epoxy Resin for the kevlar fabric?

I used an epoxy. Resin + hardener mix.

@@mdimansantoso3976 pretty much, though I applied pressure using my hands, and tied it up pretty tightly while it was curing.

For boats. Kevlar and epoxy are used a lot for kayaks, among other things.
