Its Ok to show the saw cutting wood, but everyone knows a saw will cut wood. What people [me] really would like to see, is how its constructed, and all the essential parts, that its made of.

The crown of the tires keeps the blade centered, along with the blade guides preventing it from moving backward during a cut.

Let me startoff by saying how much we love seeing a hard worker going at it doing something constructive and having fun at the same time. But you gotta put some foam over that cam- mic, that wind is killing me. Lol

Thickness is adjusted by the number of turns on the winch that lifts the saw head. I just experimented with the number of turns required for different thicknesses.

Very efficient setup. About twice as fast as my chainsaw mill, faster setup I'm certain, and less waste. I lose an inch every 3 cuts. Also it's a much cleaner board. I wish I had the patience to put one of these together from scratch.

It wasnt hard to build, suggestions bigger is better when it comes to engines and add the little things from the start like elevation scale, blade lube, easy to adjust blade tension system.

I'm jealous. Is that a hard wood? I've been using a chain saw. I set up a log of the ground, and cut a flat edge on the narrow top of the tree. Then I screw a two by six to the flat part of the log. I turn the log best I can to level the two by six. Then I run two by fours up the length of the log and set them level on another two by six that's screwed level on the end of the log. I use other boards (2x4) as spacers. I then use a chain saw set in guided. Problem is the hard wood dulls my blade.

Do you have something that locks that crank arm that adjusts the depth of the cut? or is that not necessary? Interesting set up using tires btw.
@BSpotBuilds
Жыл бұрын
It is basically a worm gear winch and does not move with vibration or use so a lock is unnecessary.
