It is a simple version of the original recipe suitable for all cuisines, but it is equally delicious!
Ingredients (for 2 or 3 servings)
🍛 130 g. red or brown lentils
🍛 1 regular onion or 1/2 a large onion
🍛 3 tablespoons of butter
🍛 1 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste (or 1 tsp. ginger-garlic powder)
🍛 2 tbsp. garam masala
🍛 200 ml. crushed or fried tomatoes
🍛 1 tsp. hot paprika
🍛 1 tsp. salt
🍛 1 tsp. sugar
🍛 1 plain Greek yogurt (or coconut milk if you want a vegan option)
🍛 Fresh cilantro for the finishing touch
Ingredients to make homemade garam masala:
🍛 1 tsp coriander powder
🍛 1 tsp. ground cardamom
🍛 1 tsp. ground cloves
🍛 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
🍛 1 tsp. ground bay leaves
🍛 1 tsp. black pepper
🍛 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
🍛 1 tsp. cumin powder
