Imagine a high quality manufacturer like Honda picking this up. I could even see this get paired with their DCT transmission, to have a comfortable city cruiser to glide through traffic with perfect big bike sound while being light and nimble like a scooter and not having to pull the clutch to shift with the buttons on the handlebar. Perfect for rush hour traffic situations while at the same time offering enough power to enjoy short trips as well. 👍

@@anthonyrich4763 Honda and Yamaha make very reliable bikes. Their build quality is top notch. The japanese know what they're doing. I'd ride my 1995 Yamaha Virago XV1100 any day! I prefer that bike over EVERY Harley Davidson that exists. She's just about 30 years old and runs like a charm. I'd trust an engine like the one in the video if it were produced by Honda or Yamaha. Harley Davidson though?? Hell no!!
@anthonyrich4763

@@Nathaniel_The_Evil_One lol, you do realize that Harley Davidson gave the blueprints to their designs to Honda! But you're probably right, what would the original founders of motorcycle engine design and build know about it anyway.😐

@@anthonyrich4763 Clearly not much considering Honda and Yamaha's bikes are all upgrades compared to the absolute rubbish that Harley puts out on the streets. Yamahas and Hondas simply don't break. Blind loyalty seems to have gotten to you. The original isn't always better. Take Terminator 2 for example. Boom gottem. Oh, you want another example? Ok big Haus. I got you. Cyndi Lauper's COVER of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The song was originally written by a gentleman by the name of Robert Hazard, in case you didn't know. Most people after listening to both versions prefer Cyndi's version, despite the fact that Hazard's version is the original. Boom. Gottem AGAIN, GOOD DAY 👌👌👌

About 100 years to go full circle. It's interesting now we're actually reinventing the motorcycle now with full electric. I still love vintage, makes you appreciate how far we've come and only imagine 100 years from now.

Very impressive Dennis.. it sounds very healthy. I'm sure there's a niche market for retro machines like your beautifully presented example. Well done.. in fact, I wouldn't mind one myself! There are must be many like me who are drawn to those early pioneer machines - but who haven't the know how or the engineering skills to maintain a genuine 'old timer'. (I'm into old clocks too!)

yeah it really makes me wonder...i mean the Harley sounds great on its own merit but it always sounds like its missing and kinda random..this guys beautiful engendered engine sounds amazing and timing is solid..how is it that the manufactures CANT? *scratches head too*
@capttom7772
7 жыл бұрын
Chuck Itall I believe what you are referring to as a "miss" is actually due to the fact that Harley Davidson is also a 45 degree V twin 4 stroke and the cam is set up to utilize this which creates a gap of 70 degrees in a complete cycle of both cylinders resulting in a distinct "LOPE." (hint: 360 X 2 = 720 degrees for a complete cycle) do the math, place the combustion strokes in the right place and you will understand. Hope this helps.

yeah i'm in the process of building a VLD engine , i just love the way they sound too..all clankity...lol I Like the sound of old Harleys but I was just impressed on how smooth running this engine was.. Im building a V twin VW out of a bunch of old VW parts Inspired by that guy that did the VW radial and casting my own cases. (hopefully) if i don't weld one up to test my *diabolical* plan. Its still in a design stage.. Thansk again for the info and that is a beautiful bike on top of great running.

Dennis you should really consider producing your motorcycles, because of the size & uniqueness of them, I could easily see you surpassing Harley's & Indians. You coukd dominate the market in the 125cc to the 250-350cc class. Franz cruisers I can see all the college kids riding them now. This is what Amerca really needs stuff like this made withreal quality. There is a man that makes small cars also I wish he would produce his stuff also. You motorcycles are the best.
@mummyjohn
6 жыл бұрын
Amen to that, every word of it! Something classy that would suit that entry-level market, which is TOTALLY unserved in this country (young riders aren't gonna drop $9k+ for a Harley or an Indian, they could live for months on that much money).
@Chocolate_dragon
6 жыл бұрын
mummyjohn young kids you dont have the cash to buy a motorcycle shouldn't be buying them. Toys and the like should be held off till they have a job that allows them to pay for their toys. This is why America is in such trouble. Much like the guy across the street who can't pay his rent and his poor kids run around in old clothes yet he has a decked out Harley.
@mummyjohn
6 жыл бұрын
Totally missing the point...I'm saying something that WOULD be affordable and NOT a "toy" but a useful vehicle that saves them money & time would completely transform the market. The problem is that bikes are seen as toys/luxuries by the societey, and mfrs aren't doing anything to change that. I'm talking about a total upheaval of the up-and-coming generation's perception of the two-wheel market.
