If you don’t like it build your own tank lol. Best line I’ve seen on here. I’m doing the same set up but using a 275 water tank. Thanks for the video. I was looking for the best way to get the exit pipe to seal. Great idea. It Helped a lot. 👍

Did this for a bathroom in my pool house 3 yrs ago and it’s been fine. Instead of field lines I ran another 55 gallon drum with holes in it into a gravel pit. Same concept.

Not trolling but I think leach line code is no more than 1/4 over 10 feet to prevent early failure water runs down hill and will saturate that area of drain field at the same time plugging the drain holes above . The drain holes in the leach line should be at 5&7 o'clock. There's a line one the leach line that should face up 12 o'clock. Happy flushing

People underestimate how much you actually don't need. My great grandfather and my grandfather built septic systems on our family's land together many times, and my grandfather said they used only four 55 gallon drums connected in series to each other with each about 4 inches lower than the next. The last tank had three leach field lines that came off of it for about 30 ft on each line, but they went in 3 different directions. This was if a line ever got clogged or failed for some reason, you still had a back up drain. He they built them out of steel drums and each system would last about 15 to 20 years, then they just replaced the entire system each time. These were on 3 bedroom homes with 3 to 4 people. The grey water (sinks, showers, and washer) were diverted to a separate drain field that went through an orchard with apple, pear and citrus trees. They never used bleach in the toilets, just a little soap and occasionally some hydrogen peroxide. He said never introducing bleach into the system is what allowed the beneficial bacteria to thrive and break everything down. Plus because they didn't push a ton of water through the septic system (showers, sinks, washer, etc), the solids had a lot more time to break down, and the drain fields didn't become over saturated. He told me it's a mistake how we push all our grey water through our septic systems nowadays. It just gives septic companies a reason to charge you a lot more for a huge container and a lot more manual labor.

I have a 30 gallon black tank. If I made a similar system with two 55 gallon drums, how often could I dump in it?

This is great... if you want to dump raw sewage into a plastic barrel. Otherwise, don't do this. There are much better ways.

@@lenordvaughan5036 I don't understand his comment really..most septic tanks are rigid but plastic. .I guess he means treat it with a treatment system, concrete tank and leech fields

Yes, it gets buried. You attach leach lines to the output pvc an bury that as well, surrounded by pea gravel.
