When I lived in India, for the first 2 years I stayed there, I got food poisoning every few weeks. Every time I ate out or ate snacks, I got sick. It got so bad that eventually I grew numb to puking, I didn't feel nauseous anymore, when I got sick, I would just puke like it was a normal everyday occurrence. After 2 years, my immune system caught up and I could enjoy Indian Street food properly. good times indeed.

@Eric Pratt don't ever try street food. You will NOT survive it. It's been documented. Indians have a different intestinal Flora than Americans . We don't get sick from certain E Coli strains as easily as some in the west do. Which is one reason is food is contaminated , it will remain so since most Indians won't have an issue and hence customer base won't go down. Always have an Indian host. They will know what to get you. The drink Mikey ate I think was a tribal fermented drink.

It's kinda like I'm sitting having it with you. Sometimes I eat snacks when I cant sleep, and get to listen to your stories to go back to bed, after watching you devour food I'm so jealous of :)

I tried this homemade hotpot with my husand and we love it, we live in Sweden and my husband is Swedish, we don't have ricecooker just used induction cooker, he said it tastes almost as good as real hotpot we had in China, thanks Mike!!

Funny story! I laughed so hard when you said you couldn't cross the street so you were walking in circles. I am glad you turned it around. The world is better for it. You forgot to tell us what to do with the salad though.

My Sister and I visited an H Mart today in NJ and we are having Hot Pot tomorrow, inspired by this video! I feel bad now though about something, I love that video with the fruit vendor in Peru and now I know you got sick from it! That fruit looked so amazing, I guess if I ever go to Peru to make sure I wash and cut the fruit myself.
