Thanks for this video, I had been interested in Under the Home for certain subjects. I noticed this video is from 3 years ago. Are you continuing to use it? BTW, we're Christians that don't celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Easter, or any other holidays with pagan origins :)

I know this is an older video, but is this a resource you're still using? I LOVE that it uses old, vintage, living books. I don't like the phonics program (will be using alpha phonics), but LOVE everything else! And it's free! How amazing! My only complaint- it uses the revised mcguffys! I like the originals for thw younger years, personally. Do thw revised versions still retain the Christian morals that were ever loved in the originals? Also, juat curious, why do you prefer hamiltons over rays? Also also, does the Hamiltons have an answer key? Would love to see your personal review on older math curriculum, such as rays, hamiltons, wentworth, and strayer upton. So hard to choose between them all!

OOh! Super excited to see the etiquette curriculum. I love teaching my kids that kind of thing, along with C. Mason's habits from Laying Down the Rails. Can't wait to see it!

We are doing Prairie Primer too and RC curriculum and I just printed and made books from mom delights pages this week too. I made spelling books that I bound and then I printed some narration and notebooking pages for loose bound for us to use with the prairie Primer writing and learning to take notes. Then I made a bound level one for our phonics lessons with my youngest too. I already started a library rotation of resource books to go with the prairie Primer that we will pick up every week. We will do it very non structured, do questions and writing during the week and crafts, projects, movies and cook on Friday and Saturday. Those last two days just library book days. I have old aprons we are going to add anatomy to as we learn different body parts they can just add to the apron as they come up.

I printed out sherry's pages last year and made individual books for the kids for each grade level and they have been fantastic. I pull from phonics, reading, spelling, vocab and can plug in anything that child needs help with. It's fantastic to not have it filled out prior like a curriculum book because then each child can work on exactly what they need. Sometimes I do the spelling words and copywork and drawing together so we can re-tell the story we just read.

Oh wow I’m so excited to have just found your channel through Steven Bancarz. I am really interested in celebrating the Holy days! I recently escaped new age/pantheism/paganism/occultism so we aren’t going anywhere near Christmas or any other pagan festivals anyone. My son has just turned 4 and has been so excited learning about Jesus and the bible, as have i, and has already been telling his friends ‘The Good News’ 🙏🏼 I had an experience with The Holy Spirit showing me the extent of the deception around me about 6 weeks ago now. I can’t even describe how different everything is already. Anyway, I would love to talk to you more about things that are actually safe for Christians as so much that is aimed at children now is all steeped in occultism. Even our HE Forest session did ‘fairy houses’ in the woods. It’s absolutely everywhere. God Bless you 🙏🏼

Oh wow, praise God! So thankful for you! 🥰 Of course there is so much out there now- we weigh every thing we watch/listen to and go "Does this point me to Christ/His return/the eternal?!" or "Would I watch/listen to this with Jesus sitting here with me?" I think many (especially in KZitem land) get too far on one side of it freaking out over the evil of everything... and we don't need to live in a fear of or legalism of all being evil. But stopping to evaluate al lwe do in life and look at how it is honoring the Lord. If it's not, let it go. Hopefully that helps! XO 🙏🏼

I just ordered a book about the Biblical Feasts by Robin Sampson. We have been learning the feasts/keeping sabbath since 2016 but have really wanted a reference book that gave ideas about how to celebrate and get the kids involved. We should get it in time for me to plan for the Fall feasts. We are doing a mash up in regards to time off. Two weeks for Fall feasts, a week for Hanukkah, a week in February, two weeks for Passover/unleavened bread, etc.

Do you think The Prairie Primer could be used as a morning beauty loop because there are so many activities? It reminds me of Five in a Row.

I LOVE Hamilton's Essentials!!! We have the Lower, Middle, and Higher Grade books! You definitely will need all three books. As far as the 2nd book, I don't know anything about that version. Such great books, I own all the Ray's, also the Practical Arithmetic books as well, and out of the three different sets I like the Hamilton's the best. The Practical would maybe come in 2nd, and Ray's in last. Though I LOVE Ray's still, just the other two are a bit easier to use in my opinion, but we use all three books with the littles.

I wanted to do ALL the activities too but decided I'd prep books, movies, resources and I will do questions and writing and researching but let them gravitate towards whatever interests them since we have multiple children at different ages. Things like anatomy and other activities we will definitely do but we also have our core reading to get to aswell. We plan for six days of school and figure the last two are for the crafts and fun exploring like real pioneers :) then we don't have to rush either and if we don't do them all but gave a taste and let them pick what interested them. That's why I started our library book rotation. Each kids got a card and we get five books each for three weeks so we should have ten to 15 resources at our fingertips at all times pulled straight from the topics for us to read and use for writing resources and essays. I'm using it for kinder and 5th grade and potentially one of my older children aswell depending on how her curriculum works for her. Since history is not covered in order we will timeline and start out by plotting kids birthdays on our timeline along with looking at their baby books and tracking their growth. We made a family tree last year so this year we can plot our tree in time.

Hey Heidi! I have a question about the mcguffey readers. Do you do a lesson a day or do you split it up throughout the week? I'm switching my twins, who are about 3rd grade, over to the mom delights and mcguffey readers! We were doing TGATB but it is just not fitting well with them anymore. They are both dyslexic and have a hard time with writing so I'm praying this will be better🙏 thanks for all the awesome info!

I'll definitely be praying for you all! For Lily we do one a day, for Travis we were breaking it up. I would maybe try one way and adjust as needed. 💕🙏🏼
