Great video! I’m the husband of Jacquelyn Y, she wanted me to comment after she sent this video to me.😋. I was telling here how much alike Jake and I are in our roles when it comes to homeschooling. I also wanted to say how reaffirming, for me, the video was. It’s easy to get caught up in your surroundings on occasion and how your friends and neighbors perceive what you are doing. (Luckily family is quite supportive) We have a tight nit community on our block in a small town which has its positives as well as negatives. We’re certainly the odd ones out and I’ve noticed we’ve been treated differently ever since we’d started homeschooling. I knew it would happen and that that was what I was signing up for, but if you haven’t spoken with or been around other homeschoolers in a while it can start to creep into your head and you can start second guessing yourself and your choices. Just a bit but it still pulls you down after a while. This was very refreshing, to hear Jake speak just helped to reaffirm what we’ve chosen in our family and it was neat to see our roles as so similar. Thanks for having him on! Prayers to you both and everyone here for the forthcoming year of schooling at home!

Oh my gosh. I love this!!! 😊😂 He is AWESOME and clearly a great husband and Dad. I appreciated his honesty and his sweet smile. 😍 But, by far the most wonderful thing I smiled about was hearing a man talk about this topic at all, especially when he speaks about his views through his faith. Now, THAT was refreshing for me.

He is so sweet! My husband is the baby playmate, laundry mover, and amazing lunch maker and janitor during the day....it is such a huge blessing! We clean banks and churches which is late evening work so that we can homeschool together. He does not help teach as it is my favorite part of every day😉😎. He would not enjoy teaching, but he loves helping me keep the ship moving. I did everything alone with the first 4 kids, but he was at a job all day, but now that he is home all day he wants to be useful. I love working as a team raising our houseful of children. Flexibility to do things as a family is an awesome blessing for our family.

I love getting to hear the husbands views on homeschooling. My husband has always been supportive of the decision to homeschool, and my 2 girls love when daddy teaches them, but I wanted to mention, my family has been supportive of homeschooling. I actually have cousins that were homeschooled until high school so it wasnt something new. My husbands family on the other hand has always sent their children to a private catholic school and tried to push us to do the same when we mentioned we were going to homeschool. It's been almost a year since we started and they still pressure us to send the kids to the private school.

It's really made me realize that I've never really asked my husband his thoughts on a lot of this stuff, but that his heart and intentions are probably similar to your husband's. Loved this video and getting to "meet" your hubby! My husband is also named Jake. You guys are super cute. Happy 12th! We will be celebrating our 13th in a few weeks. I love what you said Jake about having to sacrifice a lot of the typical "man things" that other guys might be doing with their free time so that you can pour into your family more. My husband models this for us very well. He too, is a bathroom cleaner, and, does a far better job cleaning than I do. I think it's wonderful when husbands have this mindset and help/support their wife and children in this stage of life. I think so many men probably just don't even realize how much they can help. My husband has always been super supportive and on board with homeschooling. He's gone for weeks at a time with work so when he is home, he's home. He just gets to be here and pitch in, go on field trips, pick up house cleaning and errand running, give me time away. Anyway, I loved the video and how supportive and involved you are! Wish I could give a bunch of thumbs up!
