Quick question, please! For God’s Design, did you do the experiments with each lesson? Thank you so much for this review!

Hi! We did do the majority of all the experiments/activities. The kids enjoyed them and they really didn’t take long to gather the supplies. But- we did science two days/week and I was able to sometimes do two lessons on those days to keep us on track. Sometimes we only did one though, it just depended on the busyness of the week. We were still able to fit in three complete science units for the year.

Thank you for comparing these books. We actually used TGTB Chemistry, Energy and Simple Machine this school year and it was a good fit for us. However, for the 2024- 2025 school year I am undecided on which way to go for Earth Science. Which one would you suggest for a 6th and 8th grader? We already used God's Design for Ecology.

Hi! It sounds like we did the same thing this year. How fun! For Earth Science, I used God's Design. But, I did the General Science 1 Survey of Earth and Sky for my 6th and 8th grader. I did the God's Design for Heaven and Earth at the elementary level for my 4th grader. We did it all in the same year. The 6th and 8th grader did the majority of their science on their own. The books were laid out well, and I would help them with extra projects and assignments. The assignments were also good for the General Science 1 series. I went with that one for those ages because it gives a science credit and the curriculum was laid out well and written well to start progressing them towards Jr. High/ Sr. High classes. They handled it very well on their own. I also liked that it came in 4 different books, just for ease of carrying around. The kids liked that it switched topics every nine weeks. They liked the ocean book the best! As we were doing it, and I was also doing the elementary version, with my younger ones, it led to a lot of crossover. But, for 6th and 8th grade, my recommendation would be the General Science 1 from Master Books. (Just because that's what we did and loved it, and it worked really well) It was age appropriate for work load and how the books were written. It wasn't "too easy" or "too hard". Hope this helps! www.masterbooks.com/general-science-1-survey-of-earth-sky-curriculum-pack
