This was very helpful! I'm not required to teach science every year where I'm at, but I'm concerned about what to do for science if my kids don't get through calculus on time per RC. This gave me some ideas. I think I'll probably have them read little chunks from a textbook like this and do a notebooking page. Do you have your oldest do his science reading and science journal entry during reading time?

Yes. That’s exactly what we do. And you can break it up. Like read a chapter of science and then read a booklist book and then back for another science chapter.

@landofkakiakahomeschool thanks for the speedy reply! When during your day do you have him do the labs?

@landofkakiakahomeschool I wanted to share that the original writer of Apologia Science (pre- 3rd Edition textbooks) now makes Berean Builder Science Textbooks after leaving Apologia. They have similar layouts as Apologia, and they're all Hardbacks (I'm a sucker for Hardback books 😆)

For your 3rd grader, are you doing a Exploring Creation book per year or per semester?

Per school year. We're doing astronomy this year and we'll be done well before the school year ends but then we'll just have that much less to do or I might pop another resource in there. Maybe one of the julia rothman anatomy books.
