I think people dont even know about the greatness that was the trx 350. 24hp, and that was arguably underated 3-4 hp. Because of the wet clutch system and the solid axles it was pretty much impossible to break it. I've had the same quad since HIGH SCHOOL...and its never let me down...

People who say this is not fair just remember the high lifter is 20 years newer then the 300, 9k More expensive, has roughly 3-4 inch bigger tires and has like 65 more horse power then the 300. Even if the 300 has an axle paddle the high lifter has a lot the 300 does not have to

Change the environment and the outcome changes drastically. My 2013 Polaris XP 850 Sportsman would spin all four wheels trying to plow snow here in Canada. It would take a bit of ramming to get the job done. My 2017 Highlifter however pushes the snow and then will continue climbing the bank I just created with the plow. There's no stopping it. It's an absolute beast when it comes to pushing power. Different scenario than what you're doing with your 300 here I know, but as an all round ATV it must do more than float on water. Also, there's a few guys here on KZitem who strap on some floating pods to the sides of the bigger ATV's. It doesn't take a lot of work to make them amphibious. Perhaps the aftermarket is paying attention to this floating ATV scene. That's how Bombardier created the Seadoo - from guys jumping water on their skidoos.

There is nothing suspicious in this video. Had an old and small 250 before my 700 and owned them both for a while and could do back to back testing with my brother. In very loose muskeg the 250 was better. Light machine, over-sized tires and taking it slow made it float on top. I cut the plastic(ok, all bodywork) to make the wheels fit. Where you would instantly sink knee deep if jumping off, the ATV would only sink 4 inches. It works more like Ostacruisers Sherp than an ATV. Slow? Yes but it doesn't bury itself. But... it is only on very loose muskeg and very narrow places the 250 could perform better. The 700 got much much better stability on trails. Much easier to control. Hitting a tree stump on the 250 with a front wheel and you almost broke and arm. And no matter the effort you would probably go off trail anyway. Comfort on rough trails greatly improved. And on inclines, the CoG is great. Have'nt rolled the 700 in 2 years. The 250 I rolled several times. Left, right, backwards and made it stand on the nose. The 700 powers up snowy hills the 250 couldn't even dream of. Situations like this is where you had to winch when your buddies was waiting for you :( Climbs gravel hills with a passenger more than twice as fast as the 250 could without any passenger. Top speed about 30 mph higher. Can run tracks at true 40 mph. The 700 is better almost everywhere. Work and play. But on loose muskeg the 250 would win.

This is a very late reply, but Kind of rhetorical question. The highlighter has adjustable spring rate shocks, and the highlighter stock governed hits 50, without it can reach 70.. your 300 with a bbk running 50 sounds impressive though. 300 also rides like shit probably, but looks is personal opinion. And your point is null and void. Take the axle paddle off and the 300 isn't doing anything. He even says so right at the beginning: "Tires aren't even touching...all axle paddle". Has nothing to do with the size of the machine...no paddle, no cross. Following your logic I could take my sons 110 sportsman across and smoke both these machines because it's smaller.
@sethjamison7584
6 жыл бұрын
James Stinnette well if you had a snorkal on it and were going through that terrain then yes it would out perform your other atvs. The 110 would sink a lot less meaning that it wouldn't need so much engine power to cross simply physics
