@steveJ8527 Hi, You may be lucky and find that resistor will work but theres a good chance the car will pick up on the odd resistance. @eowdevastator This video mainly shows how to reset the light when the airbag light is already on and how to prevent it coming back by installing resistors. As I explained previously in the comments here, If you disconnect the battery before removing the original seats, you can install the resistors and the new seats without having to worry about the airbag light coming on in the first place so you wouldnt have to do the reset procedure. Hope that clarifies it for you. :)

@CptMishMashVonRandom
4 жыл бұрын
Hey. The resistors don't go in the seats. They go in the cars original wiring underneath each seat. You can unplug the battery alright, but you don't really "have" to for this job. Just make sure the keys aren't in the ignition and you'll be fine. The only way you'll get an SRS light is if you turn on the ignition without the original seats or the resistors. Once the resistors are fitted, it doesn't matter whether you have any seats fitted or not, you won't get an SRS light. Hope that makes sense and isn't too confusing! Let me know how you get on and if you need any more help. 🙂

@steveJ8527 I gave you a definite answer, In a honda if there is an airbag problem then it wont fire. The Airbag Module (Sort of an ECU for the airbags) will refuse to fire. I have experience of an EU8 civic showing airbag light for the seat airbag & in a fairly considerable frontal bang the bags wouldn't fire. In either case though I would fix the airbag light firstly so you can be sure the car is safe, and secondly so your car can pass an MOT. No sense leaving it when its an easy fix. :)

Hi, Are you fitting new seats, or resetting it from a previous fault? If its coming back on then its telling you that a fault is still present in the system. This could be either you haven't fitted the resistors correctly (of used the wrong ones) in the case of fitting new seats, Or it could be that you still have an issue with any of the airbags in the vehicle that hasn't been repaired yet. Let me know what your setup is and I'll see if I can help. Don't forget to "Like" and "Subscribe"!

Cpt MishMash VonRandom bro i need help ive done all this and no dice the car came with this seats and not the original

+justins97integra Is you're sure you are doing it right, then it can only point to a problem somewhere in the airbag system. Do you have the original steering wheel fitted? Have you got resistors fitted under the seats?

Do these cars have side airbags (not on the seats)
@CptMishMashVonRandom
3 жыл бұрын
No, only the ones inside the seats themselves.

Its for the seat belt receiver so it knows if you have the belt on or not. :)

Where are people buying the 2ohm resistors from? I can only find 2.2 on eBay, which I tried, the light stays on, the programming is successful as I get the blinks, but the light comes back on ,I think this may be due to using 2.2ohm, I can't find 2.0

Try rs-online.com. they're easily available and very cheap. :)

Hey buddy. Everything needed is listed at the start of the video. It has to be 2ohm and 1W or higher and you'll need one for each seat. They're pretty common anyway. :) Don't forget to drop us a Like & Subscribe! :)

Did you plug the yellow fuse plug back in after?
@CptMishMashVonRandom
5 жыл бұрын
Yes. The socket where it plugs in is just a placeholder. There's no electrical contacts in there so it doesn't matter if you plug it in or not but you should plug it back in for a tidy job and to make finding it easier next time.

@@CptMishMashVonRandom thankyou, did you disconnect the negative on the battery or anything?
@CptMishMashVonRandom

@@krankyhitman1166 No, you need the battery connected in order to do the reset procedure. If you are working on the airbags though, I'd disconnect the battery.

What sort of wire do you use? Silly question

Pretty much any wire will do really. It's not under a heavy current load so it doesn't really matter. :)

It will indeed. I have passed many. The SRS system is still fully functional and It's just like an EP3 now. They don't have airbags in the seats.
