I sold my CB 125 in 1974 (to buy a crappy Ford Escort). I have lived with a feeling of guilt ever since.

Wish my 19 year old self had thought of this when I struggled to rebalance my 125T's carbs all those years ago when I had to rebuild the engine after a piston failure.

You've only done half the job. Once you have the idle synchronised, you need to move on to synching the throttle cables so that both columns rise and fall together. It's also good to have a big fan feeding the engine so it doesn't get too hot as this will affect the synchronisation too. I've found that using Automatic Transmission Fluid in the tubes makes it a bit more responsive too.

You are right about syncing the throttle cables, but in this model, the throttle cables doesn't have adjustment. At least I didn't find it. I also tryed this with petrol inside the tubes, but didn't work. Is too light.

@@RACER_TV the throttle cable adjustment is on top of the carburators under the black rubber where the cables goes into the carburator cap.

And if there are no bolts between the carbs and engine to hook up the tubes?
@RACER_TV
Жыл бұрын
Good question. I heard that it is possible to make 2 perforated caps to fit behind the carburettors (on the air filter nozzle), and then, fit this tube with some oil to calibrate the carburettors. :) Cheers.

This will work in the same way on a cb400n right?
@RACER_TV
9 жыл бұрын
+morrwald Well, this overall style works in most Cb models. But is very important maintain the right proportions of the fuel tank and the seat. For instance, the fuel tank in my Honda Cb 125 B6 only works on small bikes. But in your cb400n, it has to be bigger, like the gas tank of the Cb 350. Good luck for your project. Cheers.

Quantas voltas dao no outro parafuso?
@RACER_TV
6 жыл бұрын

I believe that a CB 125 twin is probably the best bike you can buy among all 125 cc motorcycles. If you are thinking in a Brat style, maybe you should wach my video about the other CB 125. Here's the link: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uaaG26yYpp6mo4o The ignition of my bike(Honda CB 125 B6) is still in the original place. Good luck for your project. Cheers.
