this is very interesting, I like that they chose the Type R to start testing their product on cars. Some main questions remain - Where are the batteries? What's the Cost of it? And the main one for me - hows the durability of it?

Very interesting indeed, but oddly different then the hybrid drive train setup in the RLX Hybrid, MDX Hybrid and 2nd gen NSX. I can see the benefits to this type of design, but I have several questions about durability and water resistance. Also curious about battery size and implemetation, and of course the cost. There are still rumors of a Civic Type R with AWD from the factory, and the 3rd generation of Acura's SH-AWD platform is a clear indication that the rumor may come true.

I dig this but like with anything it's success will heavily rely on cost and serviceability. I would imagine you'd require a completely new set of equipment if you were a garage planning to offer to service these things. Changing the tires and balancing the rotor surely cannot be done with current of the shelf equipment. Have you seen the wobble on that scooter wheel? I think balancing at all might prove difficult. With that said, I really enjoy the innovation seen here. Thubs up and all the best for the developers!

Hmmm at 50k for the type r and another 10k or the system, I would assume 60k you could get alot more car that comes with awd already at a fraction of the price. Fun fact - the new Mk 4 Ford Focus chassis no longer has room for an AWD drive-shaft from the front to the rear of the car - however Ford obviously not given up on the RS model and clearly they prefer AWD on the mk3 instead of the mk1 and mk2 which were FWD. There is good chance that Ford would be using an electric AWD system on the Focus RS sometime in the future. Honda should really take note.

Where does it get it's juice from? A standard 12v-14v car battery sure as hell won't cut it. Also, single lug is cool. But the price to purchase something that's capable of loosening and retorquing that single lug is pretty expensive for your average enthusiast type that doesn't drive a Porsche, McLaren or Ferrari. 1: Hopefully not truly a rheostat 2: The rotors being further from the centre is increasing the moment of inertia unless the rotors is 1/3rd the weight 3. Rotors all crack if you put them thru enough abuse and in racing you will always teeter on the limits 4. Except super long tire changes unless you pull the whole system off as a module. 5.
